I finished the Japanese version a while ago, it is kind of hilarious seeing the stuff they chose to censor in the West, I'm glad I won't be playing the western version of Persona 5 if this is going to happen to that game too.
Nintendo was the one that wanted the censor. Atlus has full control when they publish their games unless it very extreme. You can confirm it with John from Atlus USA.
@assirra: Side stories involve hangout with the main cast and helping them with their problems. The game lets you know when their side stories are ready and can be done at any time. They range from simple conversation choices, fetch quest, battles, or a simple scene. Highly do them since they unlock awesome abilities.
What's all the fuss about the censorship of this game? There doesn't seem to be anything you die on a hill for.
And it looks like this isn't the best Shin Megami Tensei but a good fan service jrpg.
It's a pretty rad SMT with not all that much Fire Emblem so I don't actually know that it's particularly great at being a fanservice game.
The censorship is almost all anime titty related it's kinda dumb. They're kinda inconsistent about it, as this thumbnail might show.
Yeah, if your willing to compare pics, the parts Nintendo wanted removed like bikinis and alts to a costume are kinda silly since it wasn't off putting enough to do it. Also like the thumbnail shows and many other character designs they didn't really do enough. I say the angry is all from built up frustration of all the censoring Nintendo been doing to their license games.
Still this game is pretty damn good. Atlus top quality game.
This is a surprise since many of the other kickstarted games (at least the more high profile ones) hit every promise or made a clean end. I have to wonder where did most of the work went to.
