@selfconfessedcynic: That's probably the strangest and most arbitrary progression structure I've ever seen in a video game. Never once do they mention that yellow marked tapes mean anything other than "this is main story related" let alone that you HAVE to listen to them to progress. I guess it's a unifying thing with critical missions and side ops also having the yellow marking, but seriously, what a weird way to gate the end-game progression.

@devil240z: Well, that's a relief. I was worried that they would just quietly slip it out with little fanfare, since the previous months had been so quiet. Showing it off at something like TGS can only be a positive thing.

@devil240z: Yeah, with the current state of the development team best described as "unknown," I have no idea if we'd even get features that I would say are a no-brainer (clan support in a game ostensibly built on the idea of identifiable, unique private military groups) or if it'd even come out at all.

Either way, BSF isn't going anywhere, especially on PC. I've dumped far too much time into maintaining that damn list (the page load time on editing it is starting to get crazy) to let this thing sink into the ocean just because Konami can't get off their ass to provide us with features that were promised. Since all you need to do is toss your name in this thread, and we have no obligations or membership limits, I'm still going to keep collecting names, even if all you get out of it is a couple of PSN friends who like a game that you do.

Surely breaking down the boarders between duders is a worthy enough calling all by itself! :D

@devil240z: We're still on for MGO as well, which the consoles will be getting in under a month, supposedly. I've edited the title of this topic and the main post to reflect the current downfall of the FOB mode, but I still have hope for them patching it. All of their marketing material repeatedly mentioned defending your friends, and I have to believe that the current state of this is due to the server hits they've been taking.

You can do really dumb things with this; someone found out that you can have a silenced rocket launcher with 100 rockets in each clip, or if you use the Karbanga auto shotgun as a base, it fires out five at once.

If they don't patch this, FOB invasions are going to get real interesting.

@shindig: You don't get to keep the Honey Bee, as the contract was for you to recover it and give it back. You can later develop the Honey Bee, but for the mission you are talking about, you just need any 'ole dumb-fire RPG. That mission is structured in such a way that even if you go into it without a rocket weapon, you can still make it through.

@chaser324: Cool stuff, I updated the link in the first post.

Good lord this game is so incomplete, it's so cringe worthy. Gameplay defiantly saves this one. Good speech at the end though.

The phantom pain from an ending that you lost, you feel it too don't you?

Again, this is IN the game. We just don't know how to trigger it yet.

@skyrider: Yeah, as far as I can tell, it's simply a matter of doing things for a certain period of time before it triggers. Every reviewer who complained that they were forced to go and do the hard versions in order to progress simply didn't realize that things you did before (or like I said, possibly side ops) still count towards that "you did enough things" metric that the game seems to use in Chapter 2.

Again, not the greatest pacing, but at least you aren't forced into doing the hard mode missions if you don't want to. I liked playing so much that I just kept playing, and the game said "ok, cool" and just kept it going.

@carnage1290: You do not need to play the harder versions of older missions, but you do need to either repeat some old ones or possibly do some side ops (and I'm not sure about the latter as I did it by revisiting old missions) in order to progress.

Why they chose to structure the game that way is beyond me, but if you ever feel like you've hit a dead end, do some older missions and it may help you out. Some have made a note that the second chapter feels like it's structured to pad out the length of the game, but while I wanted to see the end, I was more than happy to keep playing (I just went for some S Ranks and the next mission popped up).

@thunderslash: The community manager specifically said "if someone got this scene naturally, this early, I'm impressed," so it sounds like it's totally possible to do on your own right now, just that it would take a lot of effort to get it so soon.

@mirado: That was pretty dope :D It doesn't touch on subjects we needed, but nevertheless was pretty cool. Cheers!

Yeah, my hope is that some of the really unanswered questions are buried in the game, waiting for us to trigger them. I doubt we'd get all the closure we'd need (as that would probably take an entire chapter similar in length to the first), but any indicator at all would be wonderful.
