@GrandHarrier: The difference is that with STEAM you only needed it for Valve games. EA, on the other hand, has a MUCH larger selection of titles. I have absolutely no problem with EA offering their own digital distribution store (heck, the more competition the better!), but if they start restricting ALL of their PC titles to only their service that is a huge disservice to their PC customers.
If they really want to promote their own platform, they could just offer a discount on games sold there (which would be easy to do considering the money they save not having a third party like Valve taking a cut). But trying to force consumers to adopt their service is a disgusting move. I hope Origin is about as successful as Games for Windows Live.
EDIT: Now that the story has been updated, I'm slightly less angry. Hopefully we hear Valve's side of the story soon.
IMO both of those two DLC are decent, but they are both extremely short compared to most quests in this game. Are they worth the price? Certainly not if you judge solely on the dollar-to-gameplay-time ratio of the original game (but then again, that's the case for almost any Bioware DLC sadly). I would say Return to Ostagar isn't too much of a gamble at only 240 points, but Warden's Keep at 400 is still a bit pricey for what it offers -- although I should add that Warden's Keep gives you a chest to store items in which is very useful IMO. Both of these DLC offer some nice loot too, especially Ostagar.
I don't know how they stack up against any of the other DLC, though, since I've only purchased the Deal of the Week ones so far and haven't gotten around to trying Awakening yet.
Ehhhh... I'm quite disgruntled over having to disable ABP for anything or any reason. If it was ANY other site beside this one I'd probably wouldn't do it.... But those darn quick looks are just too fun to watch. :(
@TheGunhaver: That wasn't the point I was trying to make. I have no problem with them working on new content once the full game goes gold (which didn't happen until within the last few weeks, which is why I'm so surprised they already have a DLC ready to announce and show pics of), but I don't want them to shove 1-3 hour pieces of "DLC" at me for $10. If they instead craft something substantial (20-30 hours for an RPG, maybe 8-10 for an FPS, so somewhere in the middle for this game) for $20-30 or so I'd be interested. I'm not "bitching", I'm just choosing not to buy the game if the post launch support is short and overpriced (unless the PC version has a level editor, which I'm not sure if it does so if someone knows I'd appreciate the info). Take Fallout 3, for example. They throw out 5 DLC that are each around 3-5 hours long that add up to $50 and about 15-25 hours. All this "DLC" is double the price for half the content Bethesda offered in proper expansion packs for Morrowind.
