Let's be real: Jeff is 100% correct about where Majora sits in relation to other Zelda games. It's a slapped together expansion side story thing. It has four BAD dungeons with an interesting weird three-day thing. It maybe sits in the middle of the series as far as quality goes. The repetition, constant backtracking, bad directions, and padding just make it feel weak in spite of its clever ideas.

Also, Skyward Sword completely sucks. It's a bad game. I'm glad they tried something, but it's a mess. At least Twilight Princess, while formulaic and boring, is a solid and decent game overall.

I was fighting motion sickness the whole way through Half-Life 2. Slowed down the reticle speed and that helped but still it makes me fiercely ill. Combined with my distaste for its look and design I just plain hate that game. The Witness is making me a little queasy too even though strangely enough Portal never did. Talos Principle was making me sick too.

Also, Super Mario Bros. 3 is the best 2D Mario game. Period. Full stop. Best music, awesome Fire Mario look, best level length...everything. Super Mario World is neat but I just don't think it's ever been as good. Also Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game by a landslide.

Also, that intro sounded a ton like Caro Emerald:

I still really, really don't understand Brad's "downward trajectory" thing with inFamous. That first game was ROUGH and took me literal years to slog my way through. 2 and the Halloween one were significantly better in controls, pace and graphical design and Second Son was easily far and away the best game in the series. The sheer variety of moves and the incredible movement speed and feel were a giant step up from the lame electricity powers of Cole. Baffling.

I 100% agree with you. I had avoided Second Son because of the tepid opinions of the guys on this site, but I bought it on sale from PSN last week. I think that game is easily the best of the 3. That game just feels good to play. The movement was so fast and fun I forgot there was fast travel. You feel powerful without being OP. Delsin is also a HUGE step up from the block of wood that is Cole.

I know, right? That's another thing to mention: for all the crummy characters in the series (Zeke, UGH), Delsin is actually an enthusiastic, fun character. Cole might as well have been Marcus Fenix, but thinner, which really didn't fit in the world of inFamous. Delsin's brother really sucks though, but not as bad as Zeke.

I've felt so mixed about whether to try this. I've always been a HUGE fan of the Mario RPG games, but Dream Team was such a longwinded, slow-paced and hand-holdy SLOG of a game. Sticker Star was a really crummy game too, so I really don't have a lot of faith in this game being very good.

In my mind, the first Mario & Luigi game was the pinnacle of the "series" (they're all different developers, I know). Superstar Saga>Mario RPG>Bowser's Inside Story>Thousand Year Door and I really didn't enjoy the rest all that much honestly. The N64 Paper Mario game, for its unique look, was way too slow-paced and generally quite easy. Super Paper Mario was interesting, but not a roleplaying game. Partners in Time was very linear and pretty disappointing all told.

I backed this one. I honestly keep forgetting about it. I guess I'll check it out when it comes out.

Geez, I tried getting into this on 360 and there were just enough nonsensical things that it kept me from getting into it. I was hoping it would be an okay thing in between Dark Souls games, but it just didn't scratch the same itch.

But boy, the map and inventory were awfully clunky, and it was really unclear how to even find a shopkeeper or anything. Super weird game.

Klonoa/Klonoa 2 are such pleasant, fun, oft-overlooked platformers. The GBA games are cool too, though they're much more in the "puzzle-platformer" vein.

How was the Wii exclusive remake of Door to Phantomile? I never ended up checking it out, even though I found an $8 copy at GameStop once.

Jeff and Dan's absolute fervor for Mario Maker strikes me as completely insane, and this comes from a humongous Mario fan who thinks the game is a neat little thing. I can name more than ten games Nintendo has made in the last decade that are way more interesting and way more fun, and I know it's very much based on personal experience, but if they weren't in the games industry with so much access to other people that have a Wii U, they probably wouldn't be so high on it. Brad's criticisms are completely founded in my mind, and for someone like me that needs to be REALLY convinced to make things for myself (and who finds user levels and mods to usually be uninteresting garbage), I have basically zero interest in making levels. And the 100 Mario challenge never holds my attention for more than ten minutes. I dunno, strikes me as a real heat of the moment thing that makes no sense up against the other games on this list. Heck, 2013 and 2014 were better years for Nintendo.
