QOTD: The Hunt for 2010 Games

While I'd like to be playing Bayonetta more than anything else at the moment, I'm still positively buried in games from 2009 that I've either still to get to, or would like to at least mine for achievements. I'm currently working on a very possible S-Rank of Dragon Age: Origins, having just completed the game last night and I still have a ways to go when it comes to seeing everything Forza Motorsport 3 offers.

Even ignoring the big hits there's still plenty of 2009 games to play. I never did get around to clearing Mushihime-sama Futari in one credit, nor did I scratch the surface of Raiden IV or the Raiden Fighters Aces achievements. Digging even deeper, I feel strangely compelled to go back and clean up WET for achievements, though that has something to do with my friends at Joystiq placing it on a few of their top ten lists for the year. It was definitely my guilty pleasure of 2009, along with 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand ... which come to think of it, I still need to finish!

All this will change once Mass Effect 2 comes out because no matter what, I'm guaranteed to drop everything upon its release. For now, however, I'm not quite living in the future.

Is there any way of seeing a Raiden IV review?  Haven't played since playing 1 &2 and eventually Raiden Project for my Playstation.

I'm playing all last year's hits at the moment, I have to beat them someday, else I'll be filled with a bunch of games I will never complete because I'll only slightly just play them.

Well, a mix of games:

Dragon AGe: Origins, Demons Souls and FIFA10 are all being played at the moment, but DA:O and DS I got as the year started so yes. Otherwise, MAG, Heavy Rain and God of War are on the horizon.

Well, I was playing Borderlands and Mass Effect 1, but my 360 RROD.  But I should have it back soon.  Hopefully before ME2 comes out, so I can get my level 57 adept up to level 60.  I finished Uncharted 2 a few weeks ago and I've been trying to get thru Arkham Asylum, but I don't have the time.  I'm really excited for ME2, Heavy Rain, Last Guardian and FFXII.  I still need to finish Dragon Age PC, Torchlight, and play some of the STO beta.

The last game of 2009 for me was Assassin's Creed 2 which I finished a couple of weeks ago and I think that marks the end of major 2009 titles that I wanted to play.

The only games from 2009 that I didn't finish were the numerous Nintendo DS games I picked up after getting the DSi for my birthday.  I don't know what it is, but after finishing the first Ace Attorney I haven't been able to really get into any other DS games and now I have about 10 of them just sitting on the shelf.

Oh well...

Full steam ahead to 2010!

The only game I'm focused on now is Mass Effect 2 and I absolutely cannot wait for next Tuesday.

A bit of both, just finished cleaning up Assassin's Creed 2 for a Platinum and started on Bayonetta. Hell I still start up Demon's Souls from time to time to play a level or two and slowly beat my way through the game. Still gotta finish Borderlands as well...

@Lilarcor:
25 achievements points is totally worth the aggravation....especially considering you get a gamerpic for finishing ME1 on Insane difficulty.

I'm still caught up in games that came out in 2008. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of games to play coming out in January alone, but I still have Dragon Age: Origins to complete and i'd like to buy Batman: Arkham Asylum as well. Nevermind that Fallout 3 is still a huge drawing factor for my game time. But if I have to give up my gaming time for something that is coming out in 2010 i'd give it up to Bayonetta and Bioshock 2. And maybe Mass Effect 2 if I can get my PC upgraded.

My pile of shame is so big ...
I know a lot of great games are coming really early but if I continue to buy more games than I finish I am gonna have to give away some of those old ones.

At least there is no way in hell that I am gonna buy Mass Effect 2 before actually finishing the first one.

I was back and forth between Dragon Age and Darksiders, but I bought Dragon Age when it first came out and I am now fully devoting myself to my cause. I need this game beaten before Mass Effect 2 comes out.

And then I'll be prepared for Return to Ostragar, and Awakening.. I hope.

I'm just finishing up some games i've started, first one is Batman Arkham Asylum, trying to get the perfect knight trophy. After that i have a bunch of games to bridge the gap to the Mass Effect 2 launch. But now that i'm thinking about it, i might just play through Mass Effect 1 to get ready for the sequal.

I am playing through Mass Effect as well, but..on a PC I don't think the achievements are saved and you can generally cheat through it all, so there is really nothing I can share online about my progress. Worst thing is that I beat it on my xbox in 2008 and its very difficult to replay this game knowing the ending. It is kind of fun to continue mass effect2 with my old party and gear, BUT has that even been confirmed? Only thing I've heard is that is Wrex part of the Plot or not if he died.

Dragon Age progress is also frozen since the end of december or so..I didn't even clear the first castle yet......"For some reason", ever since I started a serious 40+ hour a week job, micromanagement and inventory windows make me sick.

I grabbed Assassin's Creed 1 with anticipation for the 2nd one..and damnn that is fun. I think I'll finish it soon too.

Beat portal and torchlight this month.why i don't know.

Right now I'm playing through Mass Effect to get all of my save games ready for import. I finished up my NG+ run on my soldier (who ended about 20,000 XP from max level, which was heartbreaking), and now I'm trying to do a Hardcore run with a female Infiltrator, because I don't have a finished profile with a female character yet. Noveria is a bitch on the higher difficulties, though. I may just give up and turn the difficulty down because 25 achievement points probably isn't worth that aggravation.

But I am definitely avoiding picking up new games until Mass Effect 2 comes out, even though I am at least somewhat interested in Darksiders, Bayonetta, and Dark Void. I just have such a heavy backlog that spending more money on games unless I really, really want them seems irresponsible. I've barely scratched the surface of Red Faction: Guerrilla, and I haven't even taken my copy of Left 4 Dead 2 out of the plastic yet. There were so many games that were on sale for dirt cheap during the holidays that I loaded up and now I'll never get the time to play them.
