Thinking about it, so far I would have to say Arkham Knight. First it was the terrible PC port I bought to test my new graphics card. Then, to actually play the game, I had to buy a PS4 copy. While the game is visually stunning and the apex of the series in terms of control and game mechanics, it was just...boring. Who do you fight? Endless amounts of soldiers and street thugs. There are the normal guys, then I think there are bigger guys, followed by guys with weapons...sometimes? The combat was smooth but boring, like an aging gigolo. On top of that, while I applauded Rocksteady for their willingness to bend the rules in terms of character deaths, they disappointed me with their reliance on comic book lore knowledge to create a "twist." They had 3 games to develop their own unique Batman Universe, and in the end they leaned on an old hat trick. I couldn't even bother to finish the game; I had my girlfriend tell me the ending.
