@tuxfool: That explains the difference then. It is a bit of a pity though that they couldnt make the storyline to scale to the players level.

The game is awesome otherwise. Bioware really redeemed themselves in my eyes with this game after the much smaller scale Dragon Age 2.

Think my biggest problem with Dragon Age:Inquisition at the moment is that for some reason the enemies in the main questline dont seem to level up with my characters.

So I am level 23 at the moment and most of my opponents are between level 15 to 19. This is especially strange since the enemies in most of the games zones (western approach, hissing wastes etc.) did scale up along with my character .

This difference between levels means that I kinda massacre my way through most of the storyline making it a bit unchallenging. I still like the story elements but it is a weird design decision on the part of Bioware since the games level system seems to go way beyond level 20.

By the way Tales from the Borderlands is available now on steam. Just played through the first episode. The game feels pretty great so far.

Okay a small updated impression. About 75% done so far (playing on hard difficulty).

The game has far too may retaliation strikes against your own bases. There is an enemy attack against a camp every second or third time that I visit a base. The attacks should be much lower in frequency or there should be a limited amount of them per base.

It is pretty exhausting to defend the bases so many times. Also the attacks never begin when you are at the base but about 200 to 300 meters away from them meaning you have to run back to the base and abandon anything that you were planning to do at the moment.

Otherwise the game is great.

Does anyone else feel like getting cash is too easy in this game? I seem to be able to max my current wallet of about 450k quite easily most of the time and have by now bought most of the common weapons, map unlocks and so on.

The trouble is that I have only liberated 7 towers so far and havent really explored most of those areas that I have uncovered so far. Done about 2 main missions so far. I still have over half the map left to uncover and to explore and it feels like I have already been able to get quite a lot of stuff that is available in the game.

@patrickklepek:

Ubisoft should have made these fixes before the game was even released. At this point the problems are so widely known among the gaming public that there is really no point in hiding these problems.

Also the only way that Ubisoft can try to fix the damage done to its public image is to be forthcoming when it comes to these problems regarding the game.

There has been speculation that Ubisoft released the game withouth fixing these problems because its stockholders would have probably suffered losses if the game would have been delayed. The embargo gives evidence to this speculation.

Recently quite a few games have been released in a somewhat unoptimized state. Publishers really need to tighten up their quality control.

Though having 6 million subscribers at the lowest point isnt excactly dead either. Especially when one considers that almost all of those players have subscriptions. Well at least the ones in USA and Europe.

People still play original everquest mmo and that game was released in 1999. Successful mmo´s have a pretty long life.

Also down the line blizzard could also adopt the free to play model if it feels that it is losing too many subscribers (a few millions?). People would probaly flock to wow in masses if it went free to play. Though I think that as long as Blizzard makes expansions people will continue play the game. Wow is a pretty hard habit to break. It took me about 9 years before I was able to quit permanently and not go back when the new expansion was released.

I do recommend deleting manually the older nvidia drivers from your harddrive. As installing the newer driver doesnt automatically delete the old drivers.

Here is a link to an article that tells you which files you can delete from your harddrive safely:

http://www.gameplayinside.com/optimize/cleaning-up-old-nvidia-driver-files-to-save-disk-space/

In some cases you can potentially free up gigabytes of harddrive space. Especially valuable if one is talking about ssd drives.

@patrickklepek:

I take a bit of an issue with you defining the newest Dragon Age game (Inquisition) as a more action oriented game. It certainly is a more action oriented Dragon Age game but it wasnt the first in the series.

In fact Dragon Age 2 was the first game in the series where the gameplay became more action oriented. Also Dragon Age 2 had a very short development cycle which lead to multiple quests happening around the same dungeons ( in some cases the map of the dungeon was just flipped the other way..so instead of entering from the left side of the map the party entered from the right side of the map).

I think the repetition of environments was the biggest issue why a lot of people didnt like the game. Although the lack of good tactical ui was a major issue for many (including myself).
