I think I will take the advice of both MB and staticfalconar and keep practicing. I just hope I get to a stage where I can win consistantly. So damn frustrating. I did think it was just my own inability and not the controller but if other people have been able to pull it off, I should have no excuse.

This is an excellent game however, I have one slight problem. Sometimes when I am playing, I want my character to do a certain move at a certain time but instead he/she does something completly different or just a normal punch. This I partly blame on my myself because I really cannot beat anyone online in street fighter. However, I also blame it on my controller. I can't always pull off moves at the time I want to and if your playing with Sakura, timing and combos are important. It's getting frustrating that I have been playing over 20 hours and out of 120 fights I have only been able to win 32.

I could not enjoy street fighter 2 hd remix because of its unbelievable difficulty (both online and offline). I feel street fighter 4 is more leniant offline but online, I dont know why I cant beat anyone. So I don't know whether I should be frustrated at the game or I should be frustrated at my own inability.

I would imagine after 20 hours with any game that I would get better but Im not winning anything. I can't go further deep into the trial mode because im performing complex combos with a controller that is incapable of such precise timing. The medium punch--> hadoken still kills me.

So I feel that some of these problems would be fixed if I got the SF4 fight stick tournament edition but those are unbelievably hard to find and way too expensive. I originally thought I was going to get it for my birthday but I suppose I should buy it for myself for my birthday when I can find them.

I have finally managed to get the timing right for the medium punch to hadoken although it is still amazingly hard. doing this during the middle of a combo is beyond impossible for me right now. Also, Im actually having alot of fun playing online right now. Ranked matches are incredibly difficult but player matches are very enjoyable. I have had some tense matches in player matches. I think I have logged in way too many hours already and im not even a fighting game fan!

I am glad to see that many people are enjoying this game. I have had the chance to log in even more hours and I am having alot of fun online even though I am losing most of my matches. I feel that my understanding of SF 4 is increasing with each game.

I still cant get the medium punch ----> hadoken to work. I have tried holding the medium punch, quarter circle, let go of punch but it doesn't work at all. I will try again though.

It is rare for me to enjoy a game that i keep losing so im very happy with sf4. just need the arcade stick!

I already know how to do a hadoken. Sorry if it seemed like I didnt know how to pull it off. Its just medium punch to hadoken is impossible in the trial mode.

i do a medium punch, hadoken and it doesnt register as both medium punch and hadoken. dammit, why is it so difficult.

So, to start off with, I have logged in something like 4-5 hours so far with SF4. I have only been using two characters so far, Ryu and Sakura, because I wanted to specialise with these two fighters.

I have tried to play as much of it as I can and overall, I must say that it is a fun game. This is definetly a game where I feel that I want to get better at. Even the process of learning is a lot of fun in itself (except the challenege mode which I will get into).
The arcade mode is fine, I have only managed to complete this on the easiest difficulty, which should give you an indication of where my SF4 skill lies. I tried to complete SF4 with Sakura on very easy but I only managed to get to the second from last fight before losing multiple times. About the arcade mode, if you ever want to finish it, turn the option for people online to fight you during arcade mode off. I can't even remember the amount of times i had to repeat the first fight again, and again just because "a new warrior has entered the ring".

Since I am a newcomer to the whole SF thing, I decided to try the challenege mode where you go through a number of challeneges which teaches you each characters moves and combos that you can perform. This is fine in theory but man, this mode is severly lacking. Why is it so difficult for me to do a medium punch --> hadoken? I spent a good 30 minutes with Ryu, in challenge mode, trying to perform medium punch to hadoken and it is damn near impossible. I remember having a similar problem with sakura. I believe sakura was either medium punch-->hadoken or high punch--> hadoken. Either way, its just impossible to perform. The reason why I want to perform them is because I want to learn about the characters that I am using. If somebody could enlighten me on this then I would be very happy. This mode could have been solved not by just pressing select and showing what button does what, but by showing a little tutorial video on timing. Just a video with the correct timing would have been enough to teach me how to do these moves. Instead, im sitting there for 30 minutes doing medium punch hadoken, and its not registering. The medium punch registers but not the hadoken. Dammit im getting frustrated just thinking about it. Even finding good information on the internet is a pain although that could just be because the game has just recently come out. I'll give it some time before the challenge mode for each character appears on youtube.

The only other reason I can think of for my constant failure is the control on the xbox 360. I am using the stick since im more comfortable using that than the dpad. Sometimes the character does not do what I tell them to do. I find that pulling off an ultra is way to hard sometimes and it is my attempt in doing ultra and failing that loses me the match in the end. Maybe this will be rectified when I get the street figheter 4 arcade stick tournament edition for the 360 on my birthday. March couldn't come sooner enough.

Online is very good although I have just been getting beat. Its fast, smooth and nothing I can really complain about. I really want to be good at this game so I can have some good matches. I suppose its just practice, practice, practice which I intend to do alot of because its fun. I do wish I had a friend that liked Street fighter instead the typical Pro evo or Fifa but hey, this is England.

Anyway, although there are alot of improvements that can be made in the challenge mode, overall this is a very fun game and I would recommend it to newcomers. Just as long as you have the time and patience to be good at it.

I agree that burnout paradise is deeply frustrating. I traded this game in because I kept crashing and crashing and crashing. Yes, the crashes look awesome at first but they get old very fast. loading up the map then going back to driving whilst driving very fast is not fun, It just breaks flow.

I very much hated this game. I cannot how Jeff spent over 100 hours playing this game. Then again, I think he memorized the whole map. I dont have the time or patience to do that. I really dont like this game.

I suppose your right. Okami's awesomness cannot be topped. Man, that game, that game. Ubelievable, its just that I wish more people would be exposed to this kind of game rather than the millions of shooters that only have grey and brown in them.

So I just completed Okami yesterday. Man, the only dissapointed from that game is that there wont be a sequel. That game was amazing in everyway. The graphics even hold up till this day which is just unbelievable. The story it told, it was just excellent. What a game. Okami is on a league that is completly different to Zelda. Yes, its inspiration was zelda, but it even went beyond those games and showed nintendo how it should be done.

The music of the game is still stuck in my head, I need to buy the soundtrack asap.

Anyway, my contender for the game of the year 2009 as well as persona 3

I would import persona 4 but it wouldnt work on my ps2. So I guess I have to wait. I am hoping that persona 4 will rise to the level of excitment and enthusiasm I had whilst playing persona 3. I can't believe I enjoyed levelling up my characters. That is normally something that I dont find too exciting.
