This was fantastic. Thank you to Emma and Jocelyn for sharing your experiences and ideas, and thanks Giant Bomb for hosting this and signal boosting. Are there any feature-length documentaries on this topic? Maybe O'Dwyer should get on the case.
Data caps are much less prevalent in Europe, they pretty much don't exist here in the UK. I can see it being quite successful here, whether or not that is enough to keep it up and running globally is unsure. I'd also assume Google has some significant bargaining and lobbying power in getting data caps increased or dropped in affected areas. Maybe they launch their own ISP.
I wonder how many people who are unhappy about data caps have written to their ISP or government representatives about the matter, they won't change a thing unless prompted. I'm skeptical too, but I don't think you can take this interview as an indicator of failure.
This segment has become one of my most anticipated events of E3 (closely behind the Boyes/Lang/Vignocchi ...things). Honesty and personability like Phil's is sorely lacking from so many public figures, it is refreshing to see. Jeff's interview skills need to be utilised more often, it makes for great content.
Damn millenials and they're not understanding the lockdown craze.
I say that as someone closer to Abbys age than the rest haha.
The lockdown craze is a) a great song. And b) it brings back the simpler, smaller times of Giant Bomb and I can't remember, but Ryan was still with us? It's a flood of memories of late nite E3 and easily the best part of the week.
I was there for it all too, but now I've heard it too much. It just grates on me.
