And he published this... http://www.destructoid.com/the-ultimate-pc-gamer-to-do-list-155752.phtml
As much as I don't like Jim Sterling... he's kinda right on that one. PC gamers act like they're superior to console gamers (from my experiences).
They are, anyway.
The problem with this game is that it's a AAA release where the majority of gamers haven't even played the game are making their unwarrented opinions
Anyone who's actually played TW2 knows Jims review is rubbish, it's all the console fanboys coming in to stick up for him to get one in over the PC gamers.
Any game can do super sampling, and it will bring your computer to its knees everytime, it's not part of the Red Engine but is enabled in your drivers. It's just that the option to turn it on is in the Witcher 2 options causes the confusion mainly with console fanboys jumping ship.
Well, if you're comparing Bioware to CD Projekt, come back in 10/15 years. You can't compare them. Not when one has a repertoire of 2 games and another of 2 dozens.
If you're comparing The Witcher 2 to Dragon Age 2, then yeah, Witcher 2 is better.
Witcher 2 is better than any of their games except Baldur's Gate 2 .
You know what, even though I don't like Sterling because of the fact that he's such an obvious troll sometimes, I completely agree with his assessment that if a game forces you to basically wade through a really shitty experience for the first so many hours then it isn't an exceptional experience regardless of how well it recovers later. In my personal and humble opinion, if a game requires you to endure utter mediocrity (or complete and utter shit) for any longer than the first half hour of the game, then it has fundamentally failed to give you any reason to keep playing and loses any sort of recommendation I would give.
I haven't played the Witcher 2 yet so I don't know if the above applies to it, but I'm going to try it out at a friends house first before I throw cash down for it.
None of that applies, the opening/prologue is perhaps one of the awesome I've played in any game, and then chapter 1 will take your breath away, which is where I'm up to so if it keeps on getting better then I'm in for a treat. Also, it's nowhere near as hard as people are making out. Those complaining about the difficulty are just console playing bandwagon jumpers and can be safely ignored.
Look how much traffic Jim has given his site with that review, the guy is the king of trolls, but hey it brings in the advertising dollars.
Yeah, port your games to consoles CD Projekt and then you can become infected with the same disease which ravaged the output quality of Bioware and Crytek etc... the list goes on and on.
