The game is really hard to play with KB+M and it's like the combat was built for the 360.  Also, the game isn't as "open to RPing" as Bioware games are, but I LIKE THAT, I understand that some people wouldn't.

I love, and I mean love, the first Witcher.  To me this game is a solid 85.8934569342345%.

I read the first two paragraphs and he wasn't lying... Rayn himself said that the game was terrible about explaining you stuff. The combat system is undercooked just like the one in the first game. Very weak third act and ending...

From what I've seen and heard I don't think that Witcher 2 deserves a 6/10(the first witcher does). I'm not suprised that the combat system is not particularly good though.

I will definitely buy it when it gets a price drop.

EDIT: I love how people are telling me to get over it when I haven't even stated my opinion on it. All I gave was the score and said guess who reviewed it, because he always gives games low scores.

Pretty good review. I'm only about 9 hours in and all of Jim's points are valid. I had to turn the game down to easy after dying 10 or 15 times in certain battles. And having to meditate to drink a potion is just a stupid design choice. Also, anyone playing on a 4:3 monitor has to play the game in letterbox. That's weird.

I'm still having fun. We'll see where the game takes me.

too bad, sterling loves to do this. I find his reviews accurate, but to an extreme hyperbole. He tends to focus on a particular fault and overemphasize it because it annoyed him. A valid argument, but you need to review the game holistically, which I feel he tends not to do most of the time.

The good news is that when the 360 version comes out, the PC version will get the free Director's Cut like last time and everything will be fixed.

Telling him to get over it is not being needlessly offensive. He clearly thought this discussion was going to turn into a 'I hate Jim Sterling' thread. The fact that it's not, and that people accept that different people have different opinions, is a good thing, not a bad one. You shouldn't be telling us to be ashamed of ourselves, when all we're doing is defending a review score.

6 is an above average score. His text supports his score. I don't see a problem.

While I strongly disagree with his opinion, he does make some valid points no doubt.
The game certainly doesn't deserve a 6 though, even if he is one of the few people who use the entire 1-10 scale (which at best would peg the game at 'Above Average').

But hey, opinions and such.

You should have stated your opinion better when you first posted. A thread title and a link does not create great discussion.

Fat bastard Jim Sterling. Knew it was him as soon as you said Destructoid.

I think the controls were fine, and I'm guessing Sterling didn't know that the block button was bound to his vigor bar because he wrote that it didn't work sometimes. 

I know it is an opinion but I find it hard to think this when he is the same person who gave AC 2 a 2/10.

It's a good read and he makes valid points but as usual the score doesn't reflect the text. His scores have always been a bit "weird" but the actual review is usually good.

I don't even know what the fuck you're talking about. If my post served no purpose, then the OPs post definitely served no purpose. You really think he wanted a lively discussion from us? He said the game got a 6/10. Then he said 'guess who reviewed it'. That's not really much of a discussion starter. He should be happy he got a bunch of 'Get the fuck over it' responses. Because honestly, I don't know what else we're supposed to talk about in this thread.
