I do like the campaigns and its a little sad to see it gone. However, If they really go hard and make the multiplayer really great it would be fine. Put all the extra resources into a bunch of varied weapons and maps. I have not bought/enjoyed the last few cod games multiplayer wise. Advanced warfare and Infinite warfare had fun campaigns but I did not particularly enjoy the multiplayer with all the jump jets. Didn't buy ww2 but from the 10-15 hours I played of the multiplayer I really didn't like the maps. I am not a fan of the ww1/ww2 settings cod/bf have used as well.

I have for the most part been playing the modern warfare remastered and black ops 1 multiplayer. If the new game uses that era of cod gameplay I am 100% down.

I really enjoy the red orchestra / rising storm games. They are semi realistic fps games set in world war 2 and the newest one is set in Vietnam. The game play exists somewhere between arma and battlefield and is purely multiplayer.

@tuxedocruise: I actually like 3 very much. I like it more than 4 at least. I kinda see why people would say that though and can agree that if it is to much of a hurdle to play 3 then skipping it is fine.

I do really wish they would put 3-5 on the ps4 in the same way they put the uncharted games on ps4.

@tuxedocruise: My advice was coming from the understanding that you had a ps3. So if you can't get one cheap enough to be worth it maybe you should skip 3 and read/watch a recap. If you have a pc capable of emulating a ps2 I would still play 2 so you can get the most out of the series. In my opinion 2 is one of the best games.

The stories are for the most part self contained, it's mostly about the characters introduced and their development that matters the most to the overall series.

I can't speak on the performance of PSnow but you could always give it a try and see if it's good enough.

I really feel it is worth it to play them chronologically as they all introduce some important characters and overall are all very good games.

I would play yakuza 2 on an emulator. It does look really good with a higher rendering resolution. Then I would buy yakuza 3 on ebay/amazon since that is the only way to play it unfortunately. As for 4 and 5 you can buy them digitally. Based on historical sales data on psn there should be a psn sale in early march where 4 and 5 should be on sale (speaking from the european store). Other wise 4 isn't all to expensive so you could buy it and then just wait for 5 to go on sale. 4 and 5 where also made available on PSNOW last week so if you don't have a problem streaming them that is also an option.

As for dead souls, only play that if you really like the characters in Yakuza because god damn that is a terrible game from a gameplay standpoint. It should also go on sale in march but psychical copies are dirt cheap since no one wants it.

The series creator has said that he wants all Yakuza games on platform. So who knows what that means and how long it will take for that to realize if ever. So I would just drop the cash now and play the series.

They seem to bring up super potato when talking about Japan on the bombcasts a lot. I just want to mention that I was far more impressed with all the games at the Super Potato in Ikebukuro than the one in Akihabara. It's still worth it to hit up the store in Akihabara, but if you want to see a ton of games go to the one in Ikebukuro, Don't forget to hang out on the fighting game floor of an arcade for a while, playing sf3s/GGxrd in a smokey room was a cool experience.

If you are into sneakers and so on go to Kicks Lab in Harajuku and all the stores around it.

@ntm: I used the wrong words, yea stalker isn't that old but it doesn't adhere to what we consider basic fps design that we are used to. Stuff like weapon handling and ballistics and so on. I certainly have kind of a hard time playing them now, even with the amazing mods available. I'm currently playing through all of the Yakuza series at the moment but once I am done I'll give Last Light another shot so its fresh in my mind before Exodus.

@ntm: My gripe with Last Light is just how weird the story felt in relation to the isolation of 2033. I just didn't really like the endings all that much as well and only completed the game twice compared to beating 2033 something like 7 times across difficulties/platforms/languages. I get that they tries to flesh out characters a bit in last light but they just didn't feel that great and all the extra talking made you quiet protagonist a little more strange. I do have to say that I haven't touched last light since it came out and have replayed 2033/redux in that time as well so my memory is a little fuzzy. I'll probably go through the two games again before Exodus.

Also have you read the books? If not I highly recommend 2033.

I have looked around a ton trying to get og 2033 to boot but with no luck. I'm guessing that your PC is bit old if stalker is giving you trouble, That sucks. I will say however that depending on how much you like older style PC games really tells if you will like stalker. The metro games are very modern in their gun handling and so on, stalker is a very strange game by today's standards and I find it very hard to go back to now. THe stalker game do however have just amazing atmosphere in them as you walk across the wasteland and into old military bases and so on.

I absolutely love the Metro series. I am very much looking forward to this game, I hope it resembles Metro 2033 / Stalker a bit more than Last Light though. On a related note I am super bummed that the Original version of 2033 will not boot on my PC. I've tried everything except wiping my windows install, all I get is a generic c++ run time error. I actually prefer the gritty look of the original over the more polished redux.
