some people love to act like as soon as you CAN pay for something in a free to play game, it means you have to and the game is ruined if you don't.
the game is really the perfect bite sized mobile game. you only have to play it once every couple of hours, if you want to, you can just open chests and save up games for later if you want too.
it's not heroin, it's not "our dark future", it's just a well designed mobile game. if you don't pay anything, you'll generally be evenly matched, if you pay for chests, or gold, or unlocks, you might stomp through an arena or two depending on how much you put in, but you'll eventually hit someone who spent more time, or paid more. there's zero incentive to pay for anything unless you have no self control when faced with the option to buy something in a game.
i've played other mobile games without any kind of restriction on how much you can play, and i play it about as much as i play this, or less even in some cases. it makes me wonder if it would be as compelling if i could play as much as i want, and maybe that is a little manipulative? but it doesn't exactly bother me because it fits naturally into my schedule of mobile gaming anyway, i don't feel the need to pay to play more or open chests faster or get more cards.
Well put, duder. I have thrown some bucks at this here and there (its something I have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of and am fine with that), but the majority of matches I play are done with my chest queue completely full. I tend to slingshot around a bunch on our leaderboard, but enjoy the challenge of figuring out new builds and counters.
I am usually fairly opposed to the business practices of F2P games, and by no means think this model is the best way this game could be presented, but I do agree with you that the game is fairly well balanced for the those who choose to not pay anything.
thanks again, duders! I get some of the frustration people may be having with this series, but as someone equally "challenged" by Kerbal, I'm enjoying the ride. They are learning new things, they just happen to be forgetting older things as well (or just ignoring them). Story of my life.
@fonzinator: Yah, a simple "meh, not for me" might be the politer response. But hey, politeness isn't for real "gamerz". Everyone else is the worst!
A lot of people need an inferior enemy in order to feel better about themselves. It's the norm, really. At least in my personal experience.
And my comment has nothing to do with the video btw. Haven't watched it yet.
I would have to agree, though, at least comparatively speaking, I believe the GB community has remained a largely positive place over the years. I may be a bit naive on that part, and am certainly not free of my own biases or ability to come across as a negative ass. I remain largely optimistic.
