For PVE, 9 out of 10 socket bonuses are terrible so you're really doing yourself and your raid harm by gemming incorrectly. That's just my personal take on it, but if you're just in to running dungeons or heroics (maybe PVP, I dunno) it doesn't have that much of an impact. For raiding, if your job is to DPS you should gem to do the most damage possible - period. Using poor gem choices just to get +3MP5 or +5 Intellect is never going to outweigh gemming +spellpower as a DPS caster. I know it sounds a little elitist, but raiding is all about teamwork. I've been in numerous raids where the group wiped at 1% and it could have been avoided by DPS having proper gems and the highest level enchants, etc.

I've been playing the Warlock class for the better part of 5 years and leveled my fair share of them. Of course things have changed now compaired to before thanks to talent tree overhauls and the implimentation of the LFD system.

If you're going to quest your way to 80, I recommend going Affliction. You can DoT numerous mobs, Fear/Howl of Terror them and /lol while they heal you as they take damage. Add that to Life Tap/Dark Pact and you have little to no downtime. If you're going to run dungeons, Demonology is the way to go. Affliction loses it's appeal in groups pre-70 because everything dies too fast for your DoTs to really be effective. Demonology lets you spam Shadowbolts for heavy burst damage and gives you numerous passive bonuses to crit and spellpower. Destruction is an awful choice for leveling since a lot of the bottom teir talents increase fire damage but you don't get your primary Destruction nuke (Incinerate) until you hit Outlands.

My problem is more with the player base than the actual game, but that's to be expected with over 11 million subscribers. You'll always find people you don't like in any multiplayer game, especially online when anonymity is a factor. As for being a "ripoff", it's pretty hard to be original anymore. It's better they stick with a formula that works and is familiar to their player-base than to come out of left field with some obscure playstyle. It's an MMORPG, after all. That in and of itself automatically sets them up to be similar to other games in the genre - that's how it is in other genres as well. Sure, they might have borrowed some ideas from other MMOs that came before them but they also fixed a lot of things that the other games players didn't like (so much to the point that they now play WoW isntead of their old game).

Willow for the NES. It had a pretty great soundtrack and a nice "zelda" feel to it, much like Star Tropics or Crystalis.

Pepsiman was also a pretty rad import for the PSone. It has the best in-game song EV4R ("PEPSIMAAAAAAAAN" *dramatic music goes here* "PEPSIMAAAAAAN" *repeat*) and was like one giant bonus level.
