I think I'd agree with that - I think this would be a pretty top drawer application of the move to be fair.

Better than Resistance 3, which was F-ing UNPLAYABLE with the move. Was going to do my second play-through that way, but literally could not progress past the tutorial bit where you have to melee the dummy. Just would not register the "thrust to melee" motion you are supposed to make.

I would have thought Killzone 3 told everyone how it was done but no...

Same would go for Skyrim surely also, since it's unlikely they're about to patch Oblivion. If only Bethesda wasn't so busy suing the crap out of Mojang they might have some time to get it in the game. The asshats.

Similarly I'd like to see a Kinect beard stroking mime which would help you seem more authorative and persuade characters in the game.

oops - had not spotted that, ok that somewhat makes sense of the madness.

For some reason this popped up on page 2 of the classifieds, which is normally sorted newest entry first.

Apologies all.

Trawling my MX5 (miata to you US bods) forum for cheap parts, and spotted this listing:

http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=258

I mean first off, I'm not convinced I'd have the balls to openly list my modded console with massive archive of games. That said,  I think Sony is still sore enough from the vicious bumming they got the last time they decided to make an example of an individual from the modding community to let this dude slide.

My real issue is the guy's asking price: £300
 £300?
 Seriously?

I spotted that you can pick up a used PS3 120gb for around £150 these days.

Is my finger off the pulse on this, or is this about as crazy as the Portugese supermarket I saw in February this year that was trying to flog a copy of Formula 1 2007 on the PS2 for 69 Euros? I jest not, it was kept in a locked glass cabinet by the tills.

So the point of all this, if you can call it that, is that Portugese people must love F1.

I'd love to play some of this, but I'm about 2 weeks away from moving to The Land that Broadband Forgot.

Seriously: circa 1/2 a megabit, no ADSL at the local exchage; communicating with the world via catch the pidgeon messages.

Epic Fail.

Hello all - I'm probably just being a tool, but can anyone tell me how I update my status these days? Use to do it from my profile page, since the last big refresh of the site I've completely failed to find the option.

Help me or I'm doomed to a future of proclaiming my love of the PSP Go.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Ok, so I recently bought myself a black wii (which have been out for an age in the uk) since it was on a 25% off price deal in a supermarket.

This was in part to play Virtual Console games with my daughter, but mainly so I can get my hands on Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

Anyway, after a few days I found myself asking myself something that I've asked myself a lot over the last couple of years:

How do you take Nintendo seriously in this day and age?

So by way of answering this, I downloaded a "sample Ninty podcast", which happened to be from the UK Nintendo Magazine team. What I heard on that show was a few guys stuck the room who covered their material with a detatched irony that just underlined my sus[icions that even people "inside" Nintendo struggle with the modern concept of Nintendo.

The podcast is here:

http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/podcast/onm_podcast.xml

Listen to 5 mins of one and you'll see what I mean - I think it was about the 3rd one I listened to in case it, they do discuss Galaxy 2 in that one anyway having had some advance play time on sample levels of the game.

I think the marketing team speculatioin was on the money, but I reckon it's just the the editorial team has hit the point where they don't care any more (or just have to toe the line)

I want to play this game (and still need to catch up on Galaxy 1 anyway), but one the whole Nintendo still seems like it's just waiting to implode.

Maybe it's just that I'm still bitter they anounced ANOTHER iteration of the DS about 3 three weeks after I upgraded to a DSi XL. Robdogs!

Oh, and word of warning for anyone about to buy a black wii in the us; that thing attracts dust like brad pitt attracts flap. Just be aware what you're getting into.

Ok seriously, as I'm sat here I'm watching a progress bar as my PS3 extracts / installs a download, and a progress bar on my pc (dowloading an live mp3 from nyctaper.com).

And I asked myself:

When did  it become acceptable to me that this is what I do to relax?

"hey what did you do last night Ben?"
"oh, you know, hung out, watched some progress bars"
"sweet."
"ya knows it"
(I always endeavour to stay down with the kids while discussing leisure activities)

I'm now getting some horrible deja vu, like this might have been discussed on the last podcast, and was about to delete this an play some MW2, but guess what - 4th software patch IN A WEEK, so I'm looking at ANOTHER BLOODY PROGRESS BAR.

What the fresh hell has happened to the world of entertainment?

So in all seriousness though: progress bars - spawn of satan on worth it for the greater good?

Sign of the times: Before she could even read, my 6 year old, knew that you had to wait for "the line to get all the way over to there" before fun would start (cbeebies flash games, yo*).

*see explanation above

I agree with most of the points here - yes the companies are trying to mimise the market for used-games at retail. I think a lot of these moves are motivated by Nintendo and Sony trying to compete with the ipod / iphone (not that it's anywhere as near being genuine competition for pure gaming as everyone seems to think it is).

Yeah, DS carts are a doddle to carry. The main issue with carrying a batch of UMDs around is that they RATTLE like you wouldn't beleive.

Sony does seem to be trying to figure out their pricing in all fairness, I've noticed that Riviera (an old rpg port) which hit PSN for about £23 in the UK last month, has now been dropped in price to £14 after the big October revamp. They've also started publishing the DL versions of new releases at £23 rather than the full whack £30 they originally experimented with (though some third parties are still in at the full 30 notes).

Going forwards we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out I suppose. It is nice to be able to just think "oh, I'll play a bit of that", and it just be there though - it is trying to be the ipod of gaming, but is 16Gb enough memory?

As for the DSi downloads, well I can't really comment - it's been MONTHs and they're still yet to post anything thats a full game (that isn't a port of an iphone app). Where is all the SNES emulation? I'd take their arm off for a dl copy of super mario world to play on it. Come on Ninty, sort it out.
