@baal_sagoth: Armor is really only a problem if you're doing a 1/3 split on damage types for your party composition (3 physical 1 magic, or vise versa). There are also skills that let you completely shred armor. Or you could just focus a whole composition around 100% magical or physical damage, which negates the one armor type in your way within a turn or two.
Like, it's really not a big deal and it helps you probably more than it stands in your way. You're stun-proof while your armor is up, for instance. And there are so many ways to keep those precious barriers fueled.
