@nodima: The wall-to-wall slang is definitely a staple of the cyberpunk genre. I read Neuromancer recently and it is so rife with it that often had to reread sentences a few times to parse what actually was being said.
@bradbrains: Most of the big traditional games press outlets actually reviewed the game fairly well. IGN and Game Informer gave it 8's. If you look on Metacritic, Brad's review is literally the only one under the "negative" section. But I know TB also was advocating for people to boycott Mass Effect 3 back in the day because of it locking significant story content behind day 1 DLC, so some of it probably stems from that too.
I liked it a lot. It seems like Aronofsky's attempt number 2 at the ideas he was exploring in Noah, but this time at a way smaller scale and budget presumably because that afforded him more creative control. Noah felt like to me it was filled with studio meddling trying to turn it into a Lord of the Rings style movie or something. mother! felt like an old Roman Polanski thriller for the first half then was just batshit insanity for the second. First half is definitely better but I still enjoyed marveling at how fucking nuts it was and the fact that something like this was playing in a regular movie theater.
It's also strange that the people are split in half on this movie thinking either the allegory was way too blunt and heavy handed or it completely flying over there head and not seeing it at all. I guess a lot of people aren't familiar with the stories of the bible?
I definitely get mad. I think it's natural for anyone who is a very competitive person to. It's incredibly frustrating when you know you are playing well but you are losing because of someone on your team. The thing you got to realize though as tempting as it is to yell at the person, is that yelling at them will not make them play better. If anything it's just gonna make it worse. I say all that shit that people talk about hating to hear, I just don't hold my mic button down.
@sgtsphynx: Well considering that E3 is in 5 days and the east crew are going to be in town for that I figured maybe they came a little early to help with the setup or something
