@onijai: Yeesh, you're telling me. Pretty much the entire reason I now create a new slot for every new save is I got a corrupt save in this very game that set me back a good five or six hours (autosave was inexplicably missing, too). I sincerely hope this does not happen in this series, and it makes me incredibly tense every time they have to load up a new save.
This is by far the worst part of the game and the hardest. It's got the two fights that compete for hardest in the game (the Armature fight is brutal as any class, but the elevator fight is even harder if you're playing a class that doesn't do well at close range, nearly impossible as the Infiltrator, which specializes in sniping), with both of them having nice and lengthy unskippable cutscenes right before, and it focuses on the wonky combat rather than the top-notch world-building and storytelling. Really well played throughout, particularly getting the elevator fight done in one go - I've played this game more times than I can count and still regularly die a few times there every playthrough. I was a bit frustrated until Alex discovered the best way of using the Mako (AKA spamming that single-shot canon as much as possible), but that didn't take very long.
The one thing you might want to do is stop dumping skillpoints into Pistols and start going down the Shotgun route (and obviously using shotguns whenever the range is appropriate - which is more often than you'd think, shotguns in this game have pretty respectable range). Pistols are the game's way of making sure every class has something sub-par to use in the situations they're bad at (Shotguners have something for long range, snipers have something for short range, for instance), so they're considerably less worthwhile than any of the other three weapon classes.
You should make Dan play dangenropa or that virtue's last reward series
I was actually this close to suggesting both of those, but considering how much of them is spent just reading through text I'm not sure they'd be a good fit. I WOULD love to see the Beast crew react to all the crazy shit that goes down in the Zero Escape series (this being 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, Virtue's Last Reward and Zero Time Dilemma) as Vinny knowingly smiles at the camera, though, so I'll still hold out hope.
I love the two methods of death that they're trying in this video - locking a man in a room with nothing to do but make endless amounts of grilled potatoes and warm himself by a fire, and locking a man in a room so his housemates can come in and be mean to him.
Have not watched this yet, but I swear if Dan betrays us Sunshine apologists and goes over to the dark side of disliking Sunshine I'll... errr... be mildly upset and maybe tap my foot and make disapproving sounds with my mouth.
So he better not, or there'll be mild consequences to pay.
Drew's little "I know" when Dan tells him about pressing B to switch out weapons killed me. This is fun, but Jesus, Dan, let Drew figure shit out at least a little bit. He has, as he himself attests, played a videogame before.
