So I just got done watching the Microsoft press conference and it really got me excited about the new things coming out for the 360.  The two major things that stood out for me was the new Kinect and the new Xbox slim.  I'll definitely be getting both of those.  All the new titles coming out this year have gotten me very excited and it was nice to see a large verity of games coming out.  I can't wait to see the Sony and Nintendo conference.

I gotta say, I'm more impressed by the xbox slim than I thought I would be.  Really surprised that everyone in attendance got one for free.  Though, after watching the press conference and watching Giant Bomb's video on the slim - I don't know if Microsoft really did enough to emphasis just how improved the slim seems to be.
 
I'm still kind of out on the Kinect.  On its own merits, I think that it is rather impressive, but without knowing how well it will actually work or how natural it will actually feel or what kind of long term support it will actually get is hard to say.  That Kinects animal game disturbs me though - it's kind of cute, sure, but I'd much rather a kid get an ACTUAL pet and not just a virtual one.  Something about it just seems so much like an attempt to shut people off from the world around them and to try and convince them that living in a virtual world is a superior choice, and it's kind of scary in a way because this is really only the beginning.
