The SNES had the best library with F-Zero, Starfox, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, ALTTP, & Super Mario Allstars.

But the Genesis/Megadrive had the better Multiplats, for example Earthworm Jim, Aladdin, Beavis & Butthead, Mortal Kombat, SFII, Jurassic Park, Strider, NHL `94, & NBA Jam were all better on the Genesis.

The Genesis also had "Mutant League" which beats any sports games in existence, even today.

I don't believe in depression.

that's cause you've never stayed in bed for 2 weeks straight without even getting up to go to the bathroom.

a depressed person won't care if he pisses the bed, or is hungry, or what have you. they lose hope in everything and everyone.

it exists.

The Wii was released with Twilight Princess. Argument over.

Not a candle to the Super Mario Bros. / Duckhunt package in 1985

Or the F-Zero/Super Mario World/Pilotwings launch in 1991.

It's the same thing with the Sega Genesis/Megadrive.

Japan - 1988

USA - 1989

If your favorite console was the PS1 or Dreamcast, the PS1 was actually released in 1994 in Japan, giving them a year's headstart for USA's release in 1995.

The Dreamcast was actually released in 1998 in Japan, giving them also another year of development when shifted to the USA launch in 1999.

By successful launch do you means sales? If so, consoles are doing great. I tried to buy the xbox 360 for almost a year and could never find it. It was  always sold out or only available in rip-off bundles when it first came out. Same for Wii. Every 360 or Wii manufactured was sold out for like a year.

The 1985 USA launch of the NES had Super Mario Bros. packaged with the system. But the Famicom in Japan launched with Donkey Kong. They didn't get Super Mario Bros. until 2 years later. If this wasn't the case than Mario might not be as popular as he is today.

By successful launch, I mean really really really successful, quality control wise, and sales wise.

The 360 launch was one of the worst in history, and the Wii had an OK launch, but they didn't pick up steam until 2007.

The reason the Super Nintendo had such a successful launch in 1991, was because it wasn't launched in 1991. It was launched in 1990, dubbed the "Super Famicom" in Japan.

The reason the NES had such a successful launch in 1985, was because it wasn't launched in 1985. It was launched in 1983, dubbed the "Famicom" in Japan.

These are the two greatest consoles of all time, but the reason they were so great was because the good software wasn't released until the USA launch. They had over a year of development with the Super Famicom & Famicom before they made their release to the States.

But now, consoles are released at the same time as Japan, or very close to their release date, making it impossible to have good software at launch.

That's just my 2 cents. Thoughts?
