  • Ross replied to the topic Trophies Messing Up in the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune board.
Hey everyone.  I was wondering if anyone else has been having this problem.  I've been playing through Uncharted for the first time and been getting trophies which are all well and good but they stopped unlocking.  I got the 20 kills with the Desert Eagle, and a bunch of fortune hunter in game awards but no trophies.  Help?

Long time no blog.  Just here to give my brief impressions of E3 2009.  In my opinion I feel that Microsoft did have the strongest of the three press conferences.  Between the unexpected announcement of Crackdown 2, gameplay from ODST, the announcement of Halo: Reach (super excited about it because I'm a nerd and  read the book), and Project Natal I feel that they exponentially improved their presentation from last year.  You know Microsoft is doing well when Halo: ODST was not one of the best parts of the conference.
Second up we have Nintendo.  While the Conference was a helluva lot better than whatever the hell happened last year, it didn't seem to rise to the top.  The four player New Super Mario Bros. Wii has me interested along with Golden Sun DS (way overdue) and Metroid: Other M (which looks kind of cool except that Samus talked).  Nintendo still catered to the casual but much less than last year.  They are definitely headed in the right direction.
Last but not least is Sony.  They started off strong with an Uncharted: Among Thieves live demo which was awesome.  Then there was the inevitable unveiling of the PSP Go! which seems like it will help usher in the future of straight digital downloads.  Then there was the odd announcement of FFIV, the already seen trailer of Team ICO's The Last Guardian, ModNation Races (which seems to be an interesting racing game with LittleBigPlanet's community aspect), and Sony ended it with a lackluster live demo of God of War 3.  After listing everything out I realize how much closer the Sony and Microsoft press conferences were than I thought.  I'm still going to give a miniscule edge to Microsoft because I'm intrigued to about the possibilities of Natal but all three press conferences were very strong overall.

So there has been a ton of skepticism about Mirror's Edge from gamers to press.  The demo has just come out on PS3 and here are my impressions.  The first thing I'll say is about the graphics is that they are overall very good.  The only downside are some jaggies.  Personally I think the gameplay shined.  The controls are intuitive but seem like they will take some time to master.  I know those aren't very many impressions but it is 6:30 in the morning here so leave a comment with what you think about the demo.

A way to get fast points is to write a big article.  On the page for The Legend of Dragoon, I had 51 wiki points.  After writing the In-Depth Plot that is currently on the page, my wiki points for The Legend of Dragoon went to 530 and pushed me over the overall 1000 point mark.  So if you want some good points, write.

Giant Bomb has launched to success.  I really enjoy the different kinds of information they have here that normal gaming websites do not have like characters and locations and notable people.  The forums are different and need some getting used to.  There are small things here that will be ironed out in the next couple weeks like not being able to edit reviews or delete photos you have submitted.  For example I accidentally submitted a Naruto photo into a batch of DBZ Budokai 3 pics.  The main problem is that this website is popular.  All of the traffic to this website has made it criminally slow.  Besides the speed the website is off to a fantastic start.  I'm looking forward to more and more stuff in the coming months.
