My personal favorite story is when he fooled a couple of us Enforcers into thinking he was going to do an autograph signing in the back of the room during the Tested panel at PAX Prime 2011, to the point that we had plans in place for it to happen.
Then when I ran into him later, I acknowledged that we were ready and willing to help out... and then he broke it to us that he was just joking around and, quote, "I'm definitely a dick, but I'm not _that_ much of a dick."
Godspeed, Ryan. I'm sad you'll never have the chance to fuck with me again. :(
I'm usually a pretty merciful person, but standing there with the pitchfork I realized Danny was already fucked in the head, and never stop. So, I decided to make the tough call, and killed him.
Then I saw Clementine, and I actually gasped, and realized what I had done - and genuinely felt guilty.
I can't remember the last time a game made me agonize over decisions so much, and do such a good job of throwing them back in my face. The Walking Dead isn't perfect, but it's certainly well-written.
It's a (IMO) slightly better WoW with a great BioWare story around it and that I can experience with my friends. It's not the second coming of the MMO, but I think it's pretty good. I'll keep paying for a few more months.
And I have to be honest, I actually think that e-mail is pretty cool. Rather than just saying "you should come back and… *sigh*… I dunno, kill more stuff" it actually reminds you of what makes the game interesting. But maybe I'm not taking the emotional appeal as personally.
