DUDE, it's media!

Right, today I'm in a good mood folks. Yup, that's me. I'm like, so happy. Like. Dude. Right, anyway, media! That's what I'm doing at college and we're making a film tomorrow! We have to walk around a set path in college, we are being set a style of filming out of fourdifferent styles, Mission impossible, Goodfellas, news reporter and Blair Witch. Funky monkey.

Oh and I'll be so good with the camera that I'll be taking Vinny's job. Yeah, you better watch your back. Actually I'll end up messing it up, so uhh... Nevermind that.

College, chrome and some random games.

Yup, college starts tomorrow! Which means for the rest of the night I'll be gathering all of my stuff together and worrying that I'll forget something. Fun fun fun. I'm not too worried about meeting all my classmates, I already met a couple from the induction day so I should have someone to sit next to straight away, that is if they haven't forgotten me!

There's a lovely new web browser on the block that got released around an hour ago, it's called Google Chrome. So far it's given a great impression, it's the fastest web browser I've ever used, looks nice, the address bar is fantastic and it seems pretty stable. I'll definitely make this my main browser, just so I can help with the testing process. But unfortunately there's two things that aren't so great; normally you can press the middle mouse button to scroll down the page but it doesn't do anything for some reason, and I had a bit of trouble finding my bookmarks at first. I couldn't see them on the bar as a button or anywhere else, but then I opened a new tab and bam, there they were. This is a fantastic first release so I'm hoping that it'll get even better in time.

Games games games, what have I been playing? Oh yeah, Resistance & Liberation! It's a modification for Half-Life 2, set in World War 2 (Stop groaning about games set WW2, I can't get enough of them!) and it plays very much like Red Orchestra, but in this you're playing as the Americans, not the Russians. It's pretty damn fun so far, there are a couple problems which bug me, the KAR98 is a tad buggy. Let's just say you see someone lying down in the bush, you slowly raise your gun and bang! Wait... He's still alive! Then suddenly he spins around at the speed of light and shoots you down with his garand in one shot. Nice huh? Stupid bullets passing through people, bah! That reminds me, I had this pretty tense moment when I was playing the other day, I snuck into this house full of allied troops, I hid in a corner as I could hear people walking on the floor above me and to the side of me. Suddenly someone comes round the corner, bam, shot him down. Then another, then another, then another, then another. I was on a roll! Then I walked into a field and died. Meh.

I was going to talk about Fallout 2 and Oblivion but I'm too lazy to do that tonight. I'm off to get my college junk ready!

Yup, he's gone.

Titch has been put to sleep. :( It was my Grandad's birthday on Sunday too, he had a party planned but now it's cancelled. Hope he's okay!

Uh oh,

Just found out that my Grandad's dog has heart problems and might pass away any day now. We all knew that he was going to pass away in a couple of months due to old age, but these heart problems have sped things up a bit. I've known Titch (strange name for a dog) since I was around 8 years old, so it's going to be sad going round his house without Titch being there. My Dad is going to try and convince my Grandad to get him put to sleep because we don't think he should have to suffer anymore, he's already deaf, almost completely blind and now with heart problems the poor thing must be going through quite a lot of pain. I have no idea how my Grandad is going to handle it because they go practically everywhere together, work, vacations, the lot.

I'll update later, I'll see if I can get any news on if they are going to get him put to sleep.

Induction.

Today was my college induction. It wasn't what I expected. The last time I was at there we met our classmates and did some weird activities, but this time we just went around in a big circle in a room filling out forms. The actual course starts next Wednesday, today was just handing in more forms and sorting out payment. I can tell I'm going to have a very interesting class, lots of strange people, but some of them seemed alright. I wish I could type some more here but I haven't done anything interesting which is kinda depressing.

Until next time!

Fun day.

Got my new phone today, it's pretty good. I've finally been able to delete these three text messages that just kept on popping up on my old phone from my ex-girlfriend. They were over a year old yet every time I turned my phone on it would act like I just received them, which was annoying. No more of that! But now I don't have any contacts, like that matters anyway because I only had 3 people on my old phone. Sad I know. I also got a little remote control helicopter, my Dad loves that sort of stuff so we got two and flew them around. They were only £9.99 so I'd say it's pretty good value for money with the fun I've had. Didn't do much else apart from go shopping and spend time at my Dad's house.

I should have been spending time on moderation but I've actually had a kinda busy week. I've been chipping in sometimes but not that much which I keep feeling guilty about... Oh well. Can't wait until Wednesday, want to see all my new college peepz. Finally some new friends! I haven't really made much since I left school (which was two years ago hur hur I'm a social reject) I'm pretty sure some stupid college drama will happen some point down the line so keep a look out for those posts!

Listened to tarkus yesterday, it was as awesome as a shark with frickin' lazer beams. 5/5 dat baby. Hm, there should be a site like comicvine/giant bomb but for music. That would be pretty funky.

I'm off to bed. Much love homiez.

College phone music.

I'm not going to be doing English like I wanted because my GCSE grades (I did them two years ago) aren't up to scratch. So I am now doing media instead. I have to go to an induction next week so I think I'll meet the other people on my course, hopefully there'll be some nice people there. Pretty exciting stuff eh?

New phone tomorrow! My phone has been broken for a couple months now, I accidentally dropped something on the screen so it's a bit useless. The only thing I can do it ring my Dad by pressing one of the buttons twice, but I can't ring anyone else. So my Dad decided to upgrade his phone and give me his old one, a Blackberry Pearl. I'm pretty sure it'll have hundreds of features I won't use but hey, it'll be much better than my clunky old one!

Music music music, the two CDs I ordered (2 blog posts back) have arrived. I've only listened to the self titled one and it's pretty awesome (score: 5/5), I'm going to listen to Tarkus tonight and hopefully it'll be just as good! I wanted to get two other albums by Emerson Lake & Palmer but they weren't as cheap, but I looked today and one of them got reduced again but it's out of stock. I've ordered it so hopefully they'll get some in stock soon. I've been listening to David Gilmour - On an Island. It's surprisingly good, the best song on it is... Uh... On an Island. It's nice & laid back, it seems David is pretty content with what he's accomplished in life and he's just taking he's making music that reflects that mood. I'll give it 3.5/5, just because some tracks are a tad dull. Oh, before I forget, I listened to King Crimson - Three of a perfect pair. I swear I've talked about this album before, but just incase I haven't, 4/5.

I'm pretty tired tonight so I'm going to browse for the forum for a bit, listen to some music and head off to bed.

I have been beaten

By my college interview. I was a quarter way to the college, just walking along when I feel something sticky in my pocket. The damn pen in my pocket leaked! What's worse is that I had itched my face like 10 seconds ago so I had ink all over my face too! Then when I'm walking back some weird guy stops next to me in his car, hands me a facewipe and then says "Get in mate you're a mess" I said "Uhh, thanks but I live in the opposite direction and I have to get changed!" He said "alright" and drove off. Oh well, FREE FACE WIPE!

So I'm going back tomorrow, with no pen in my pocket.

Damn you pens...

One more red nightmare (00:09)

So the Team Fortress 2 update came out today. It seems mine didn't download properly, every time I tried to enter a game I would just get stuck on the loading screen. I verified the files, it loaded and then I had missing textures. I decided to shoot the missing textures and pow, hl2.exe error. Verified once more and the textures magically appeared, yay! Then some guy was glitching as an invisible heavy, no fun. I'll play some more tomorrow.

I've been playing some Zombie Panic! Source, it's actually pretty fun! It can get pretty hectic when you're trying to barricade a door and a horde of zombie are trying to barge their way in, so you need a ton of teamwork to actually win. However I've noticed the game is very prone to griefing, sometimes there's only one entrance to an area which can easily be blocked off by another person. You can't push the person who's standing there, you can't jump over their heads, you just have to stare at them whilst they laugh at you. Though I wouldn't do anything like that, honest!

Ordered two new albums today! As you can see, both by Emerson Lake & Palmer. I managed to find them cheap on Play.com for £2.99 each. If you live in the UK and you love progressive rock, you definitely

Emerson Lake & Palmer - Tarkus
Emerson Lake & Palmer - Tarkus
Emerson Lake & Palmer - Self Titled
Emerson Lake & Palmer - Self Titled
need to get these two. Heck, even if you don't like progressive rock these are two great albums. In a couple of days I'll be able to give you my impressions. :)

Also been listening to Yes - Drama. Fantastic album, machine messiah is definitely the best song on there. If you want to give it a listen, here you go. Love that song. I'm not very good at reviewing music at all so I'll just give the album 4/5 stars and leave it at that.

In the future I'll definitely have to start making some game reviews, I used to do an absolute ton when I had my own website, I really need to get in practice again as if I get into this english course at college I'll need the practice. If you notice any grammatical errors/spelling errors, tell me! I'll most probably regret saying that.

Midnight blog (actually 00:36)

Noticed I hadn't posted a blog entry in a couple of days, so I figured I'd give you guys some updates. So far I've been playing games quite a bit this past week, it's good to play some PC games again, mainly Team Fortress 2 (got most of the Pyro achievments!) and Hitman: Blood Money. I actually bought Blood Money for my ex-girlfriend. She loved the game and asked me to buy it her, so instead I went one up from that and got her Hitman: Contracts and Hitman 2 as well. What did she say? "Why did you buy me Hitman?! I wanted something else! You keep it!" Let's just say I'm glad we split up. Oh yeah, I got Xfire, if anyone wants to add me my username is schizoidgb. Remember to tell me what your username is in the message you can attach otherwise I'll deny it.

Got my college interview in 6 days, I'm hoping it'll go fine because if it doesn't I'll be back to looking for a job which will be very dull. Uhh. Not sure there's that much else to say. Nope, minds blank.
