The balance for Warhammer III is going to be interesting to see. I wouldn't call Warhammer II a balanced game as it is, but outside of Beastmen or Warriors of Chaos, I wouldn't call any faction objectively awful. They all have their own distinct play-styles, and depending on who you are, that translates into everyone having a different "Top Five" favorite factions list.
The biggest issue I see, and I briefly talk about it in the blog is the issue of Chaos Corruption. Whatever CA does, they have to make it better. There's no way the current system "works" for mono-Chaos God factions and I think CA know that.
I don't own the DLC that let's me play as the Beastmen or Chaos or wood elves for that matter so I can't really speak to that. I do enjoy playing most factions as they are but increasing the map size might put factions like the lizardmen in a corner (as you mentioned)
On an unrelated note, do you think they will stick to the current DLC planning and pricing? Adding 20 euro DLC for an additional race always seemed steep to me.
