Also @jeff you were saying Saiyan correctly the English dub is wrong. That saying is actually a hold over from an old dub from Texas so when funimation did db kai they didn't change it as that's what the U.S audience was used too.
@craftxiii: The original Design for Mr Popo was actually a human man that looked very much like dhalsim in SFV he looked very similar to a character already in the series Nam. Other designs look to be put forward but more lizard like then it looks like they fused everything then some of the inspiration for the design was taken from something like Little Sambo however it is important to note that in Japan at the time the concept was not seen nor thought of as racist due to them not knowing the intentions behind the Western origins. Basically it was not done to offend They didn't have the context behind the imagery. (I know this through books and talking at length with Japanese fans) They do try and point out that popo is a deity and the only person in the series that is actually immortal.
Not that I'm trying to justify it. Being mixed race myself, I just thought I'd shed some light on the characters origins.
