I am 23 and currently a third year molecular biology student at the University of Toronto. "Gaming" to me has gone from a part-time hobby to being more of a passion. There was even a time when, I even seriously thought about switching sides over to the developing side of games, but as it turned out that was just a passing phase. I have come to learn that I rather prefer being a consumer over a developer.
I am what most would consider a "newbie" in the world of games, considering that its been only about 7-8 years since I started getting into games. Lets just say, games were not approved of in my family and that still remains a fact to this day. Oddly enough, I was still able to "secretly" dwell into games and that is how it all began. My roots in gaming don't go that deep, the oldest games I've played are the original Doom, Prince of Persia, Thief etc. all of which were PC games (at least when I played them). To this day, I have never laid my hands on a console. In fact, the closest I come to owning a console is the PSP. I know its a handheld, but its the closest I've got. This might lead you to believe that I am strictly a PC gamer, but that is not the case. It's just that I've never been able to somehow justify buying a console. More on that in a blog entry in the future.
UPDATE: I now own a PS3. So console gaming huh?
Oh and I used to be a member on
that
old site, from which most of us migrated. You
