Just jumping in to say that I would check out some video of Undertale before buying, I assumed I would love it but couldn't get in to it at all. It's all about the humour in that game and I just didn't find it funny at all.

I tend to start out with normal or easy, or just immediately bump down to the easiest difficulty setting right away.

I love playing games, and there are some I am very good at but there are far more that I suck at. I may be in the minority but I just like being good at things, and playing on easy helps me with that.

I never post on the GB forums, preferring to lurk and read but I just had to say to everyone who got the game early:

Thanks for not spoiling.

Thanks for posting thought out and useful stuff.

I can tell you right now that they don't get games from a supplier, mostly because as a purely second hand retailer they don't pay VAT and if they were new and they sold them as second hand and not new that'd be super bad for them. The reason that they can buy and exchange games for such a high price compared to Game and some Indies is that they pay WAY less tax as a business.

I can almost bet that there will be people, especially in our great nation's capital, who can obtain early access to games and are making a swift buck selling them. One of my friends works for Game for example, and he always gets his games at least two or three days early. And he's been playing GTA V since Saturday evening.

A little information for you: CeX woks on a supply and demand system for pricing. Is something is in high demand they rocket up the price. The cash/credit prices are also linked to the sale price. And if you check their site you'll see that they were giving £55 cash and £60 credit for GTAV, so if the person bought their game for the standard £35 then they made £20 profit. So that's not half bad.

Also, having asked about this in some of their London stores almost all their games and systems they get early are from games reviewers looking to make a quick buck from their free copies or from staff at competing retailers and even the publishers. Apparently there are two guys who work for EA and Square Enix who will come in 3-4 days before every new release with 10-20 copies of next week's games.

EDIT: the price is also £65 now http://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=5026555258043

How long does the code take? I sent off for it yesterday and it's still not arrived. I really want to get my teeth into some Monster Hunter on a flight tomorrow.

Also, I've made two Club Nintendo accounts so I can get the digital version free for myself and then sell the physical on. I assume that will work right?

I liked the article, though I would like to say that I think some of the women here may be living in a microcosm where their friends are all gamers. I work in operations for the second largest chain of video game stores in Europe and we've been working hard in the recent years to make our staffing equal and fair. As a result of this I have a lot of women working in my company, many of whom I consider friends.

What I'm getting to (in a very roundabout way) is that even in a company whose primary product is video games I would say less than 25% of the women I am friends with are gamers. And of that 25% there are maybe 2-3 out of all of them are even close to what the average male in the company is like in terms of knowledge and consumption.

If I am ever in a store I often go out on the shop floor and speak to customers, and out of most of the people I speak to males aged 18-35 tend to be buying for themselves, though males aged 35+ are almost always buying gifts whereas females aged 20-25 are only buying for themselves about a third of the time and females aged 25+ are almost never buying for themselves.
