@nextonex: Okay, so bad faith argument it is then. But to answer you question. Yes, being white is exactly what makes it okay, being part of the group that has held power for all of modern history and used that power to subjugate and control and dehumanize pretty much every marginalized group makes it okay. Do you have any understanding of the large situation at all? Or are you literally shocked and appalled at the suggestion that the video game industry has long been dominated by straight white men and that many of those straight white men used the power granted to them by their positions to do incredibly shitty things?

@nextonex: Maybe try reading literally anything about white privilege before you try to make the argument that you, a straight, white man, are being discriminated against. Either this is a completely bad faith argument or you are profoundly uninformed.

I think if you "don't feel sorry" for people receiving hundreds of threats to rape and murder them and their family, there is something wrong with you. Like if you can honestly justify all this away as "well they should have known better", you are actually part of the problem. If we want this kind of shit to stop, if we want the "gaming community" to not be the vile, nightmarish hellhole it has become, have a spine and condemn this kind of behavior, make it clear that you don't think it has any place and that the people who engage in it don't deserve anything other than shame and ridicule. They don't deserve a place in the conversation, but by saying that you on any level understand why this backlash happened, you are giving them one. There isn't a moral grey area on this and anyone acting like there is, is actually just enabling the continued harassment of game devs over literally nothing.

@cikame: There is no original issue. There is nothing wrong with the statement they put out! This thread doesn't need to be a discussion about whether they deserved some of the death threats and just not all. They changed storefronts where they planned to offer the game in the future, that is it, that is all they did. It is literally a non-issue that effects no one and any one who thinks it is anything more than that needs to grow the fuck up!

@cikame: There is no defense for what people did to these devs! None! Zero! So stop trying! Continuing to pass the same bullshit and lies off as a justification just makes you look like you think threatening anyone over a fucking video game is ever okay in any circumstance, which it is not. Gamers are terrible people, don't be a part of it.

I know it's called giantbomb. I've no idea who's behind it, but obviously he/they are passionate gamers, just like we all are. If he/they feel like piping into this thread as mega-nintendo-fans, then their perspective is very welcome :)

You don't know who's behind the site on a site that produces pretty much exclusively personality based video content featuring the very small group of editors who work at the site, and many of whom were part of the sites founding, which itself is extremely well documented and has been discussed several time in the past year due to it being the 10 year anniversary of the site being founded? In the words of the founder of this site, "Fucking what?"

I've you are going to go on random game forums and troll, you would do well not to openly admit that you have no fucking clue where you are posting or why.

Finished it late last night. I really enjoyed it! It's far better than season 2 and just more fun and willing to draw on a wider variety of 80's tropes than it has been in the past. The mall is a great place to set things around and that set is fantastic.

I don't get Hangman Page. Double or Nothing was my first time seeing him, but I know he has been around for a while and people absolutely love him and I feel like I am missing something. He seems like he is probably great on a technical level, but I just haven't found anything I have seen him do remotely interesting and I don't feel like he has a lot of personality or charisma. I don't think he sucks and I'm extremely open to having my opinion about him change, but I just don't understand what everyone loves about him. Can someone point me to the match or promo or thing of whatever sort that is going to make people's love of him make sense to me?

I am honestly amazed at how much I enjoyed DoN. I've been feeling pretty much completely over wrestling for the past few months, but this has really gotten me back in! Only complaint I had was that I don't think JR is great at calling actually competitive women's matches.
