Temper Rising...blood pressure increasing...heart pumping...

I know I have a short fuse, but.......

Pixel Junk Eden is driving me mad!!

I'm racking my brains to think of the last game which had me shouting, swearing, and throwing the controller down due to my pure incompetence at a game!

I get the mechanics, I have a grasp of the mechanics yet when the pressure is on and the time is ticking I always fuck up the one jump that I need to time perfectly either to get the Spectra, or crystal to add some precious time on to the synch meter.  At times the tension does build.

Saying that I have fully completed the first garden, and got the 100% seed trophey so progress is being made:)

Site Integrity

It always saddens me when people cheat on the site to get artificial points to feed their e-peen.  The problem for them is that they stand out like a sore thumb.

Lets examine the latest subject discovered.

Blog #1 Spill the Beans

This feels slightly strange.  Never before have I written a blog.  I would never consider myself to be shy, but this is proving more difficult than I thought.  Lets take the easy option.

Blog #1 - The introduction, who is "sizu sizu"?

Sizu Sizu is me, and I am a 30 something gamer.  Yep I am old.

Games are a major passion of mine, I'll get to them in a moment, but I also love music, cinema, drinking copious amounts of vodka, going to the gym and the love of my life.  Won't go into any details as lets face it thats all the boring shit, games is what people are interested in at Giant Bomb.

Being in the UK it meant two things during the 90s and previous generations.  1.  Delayed release dates from JPN/US  2. Shit PAL conversions with borders and the infamous 17.5% reduction in game speed.  The solution was easy I started to import.  Since then I have never looked back and today I have a reasonable collection from the Super Famicom upwards.  My favourite treasure being the Blood Red Biohazard Dreamcast ltd released with Code Veronica (my fav Biohazard game), only 1500 made.  My least favourite treasure now being the Oceanic Blue PS2 limited JPN edition - it looks skanky now.   Games wise my collection borders 500 units.

Its pretty hard to really say what my favourite games are, especially a list as lets face facts a list such as that changes every week.  My favourite genres never change

1. fps
2. fighter
3. shooters (3rd and 2d shmups)
4. racers
5. mmo

I hate sport games, puzzle games, realistic simulations and I only like certain JRPGS.

As far as hardware preference goes well my age kind would give away the fact that at heart I was Nintendo.  Introduced via the nes, the snes , n64, gamecube, and finally the Wii.  I've met Miyamoto, and have a signed Mario 64 (JPN), and Zelda OOT(JPN).  Today I shudder at the thought at what has happened to the company direction.  I can't argue that Iwata hasn't turned the company's profits sky high, but I kinda miss the iron fist of Hiroshi Yamauchi who kept the traditionalist focus throughout his years at the reign.  And Miyamoto a gaming legend, that will never change, but cmon Wii Music!!!

As far as MS and Sony are concerned, well I have more time for Sony.  Not due to the PS3 hardware ability, or current exclusive games, but due to how they took the market by the ankles , turned it upside down which brought them the massive success of the PSX, and PS2.  Sony went from being given the middle finger by Nintendo over the snes cd drive to creating the most influential console.  People can slag Kutaragi all they want, but they are arseholes.  The PS3 has had a slow start, but European and US figures show the momentum is building and the space between the 360 and PS3 is reducing.  I'm sure it will end up being a huge success.

Then we have MS.  I like the 360 its a nice console, but I wasn't a massive fan of the original brick.  Their consoles have great exclusive games on them, and xbox live is a treat which Sony needs to catch up with.  However there is just something about them, especially now that Peter Moore left.  And don't get me started on the Avatars. Oh, and don't get me started on their DRM policy, or the subscription charge of xbox live.  Can't complain about the exclusive titles this year though.

I think my view point of all three is pretty balanced, I recognise what each console does well, and where it falls down.  I'm too old for fanboyism now:)

To finish off a couple of firsts, and a couple of lasts.

First Game purchased Jet Pac - zx Spectrum
First Computer ZX Spectrum 48
First Console Atari VCS (woodfinish)

Last Game purchased Bad Company - PS3
Last Computer purchased (q6600, 4gig, 8800gtx sli)
Last Console purchased PS3

...and one last thing do NOT buy Alone in the Dark.  Its wank.

Bye!
