Ruiner hell yeah. It’s an uncomfortable soundtrack and I love it.

I completely unironically like this movie. This was heavy shit when I saw it as a teen. Thankfully I did not walk away from it thinking that an oppressive system designed to exploit the working class was the side I wanted to be on. But to each their own - I'm sure they're the people rooting for The Empire in Star Wars.

@entireties: http://ncase.me/trust/ - Just Googled 'trust game theory'

This was A+ podcast content. Love it and can't wait for the next check in.

I understand the 'if you can, take the job' point Paul made but it is also true that as soon as I left the games industry my salary went up significantly along with my job security. The exploitation of talent is real at least in the major publishers. "Passion" means that you're willing to work for a lot less money in an environment where long hours are expected but not rewarded. It happened in film and media, games is no different. When you have people banging on your door keen to work themselves to death for little pay, it's no wonder companies adopt a rotating door policy and things like unions are discouraged. And if you're valuable enough not to just be replaced you're also likely high enough up the chain to benefit from the same system.

@cujoprime: I'm on a launch PS4 and having no problems. Looks gorgeous. But I also cannot really tell the difference between 60 and 30 FPS like some people so take that as you will.

I didn't know this game even existed until two days ago. I'm now about 4 hours in and I love it. The gameplay isn't the greatest but the story and atmosphere is incredible - it looks, sounds and feels intense. It's also a game that's not strictly 'fun' as it deals with heavy issues and doesn't pull any punches. It's dreary and brutal. I also totally understand how it might not land well with some people. I told a friend of mine not to bother because I knew he would dismiss it as 'pretentious' rather than be drawn into it. Opposite for me and I'm fully invested and immersed.

Great review from Brad. Happy to give Ninja Theory my money to encourage this type of experimentation.

The last time this site got me to try dota I got through all the tutorials and in my first match with people (which the tutorial launched me into iirc) I was matched with someone who had played 260+ hours who told me to get cancer and die. I did not continue to play dota beyond that.

I'll stick to watching other people play it so I do appreciate these streams.

Phil Spencer is always a great guest. I feel like I 'get' the platform and their pitch after his chats with Jeff in a way that I don't purely from the press conference. I mean, that's probably why he does these every year but it adds a dimension that is sorely missing from the press conference and brief interviews and hot takes on Twitter.

Doesn't make me want to buy an X any more or less than before but I understand its intended position in the market.

Look forward to watching the rest of this - kicking off at 2AM on a weekday in the UK is not ideal for watching the show live.

I say this every year but Jeff is an excellent host and a brilliant interviewer. He gets great stories and answers out of people and it never feels too forced.

No huge shock that the man's a stone cold professional but credit where credit is due.
