My first system. Hands down the best hand-held system of it's day. Full color screen and some pretty entertaining games made this hand-held system (in my opinion) well worth the minor drawback of taking 6 AA batteries.

These scaled down Game Boys made the transportation of this hand-held system easy by allowing it to slip into the pocket of a pair of jeans instead of parachute pants like it's predecessor. Although you had to buy a plug-in light adapter to play it at night if you were somewhere where light wasn't available this little baby only took 2 AA's instead of 6 and had a much more expansive game library to choose from.

I purchased this console after being so horribly disappointed in the graphics and game selection of the GameCube. In the 5 years prior to purchasing my XBOX I only purchased a handful of games for the Cube which at it's peak was still only somewhere like 25 (which is pretty laughable for owning a system for 5 years). After buying my XBOX and seeing the enormous jump in frame rate, graphics, and sound I quickly began to snatch up every game that looked remotely interesting or fun. My game collection within a year quickly reached 60+ games and I'm still collecting a few here and there if the price is right. Hands down the XBOX is the best of the 3 consoles of it's era.

I was always a die hard Nintendo fanatic and when the Cube was released I was almost squealing with anticipation to snatch one up for myself. When the purchase of this system did happen I picked up a copy of Rogue Squadron II and was extremely pleased with sound, graphics, and smooth control handling. Sad to say it was all downhill from there. Almost every game didn't look/sound much better than they would have on an N64 and an Expansion Pack.

A system that still runs strong today (2011) releasing games that still apparently justify manufacturing, shipping, and a fan-base following even in the midst of a war between next-gen console war of the 360, PS3, and Wii. A system that has proved to have legs far beyond anyone's expectations and proving that it could possibly be the console of the century with a shelf life of 11 years (and more to come) may possibly stand out as one of the most loved consoles.

So many Saturday's spent sneaking into my brother's room on weekends and trying not to wake him up with DOOM shotgun blasts and "FINISH HIM"s playing through the tv speakers. A system that was technically superior in terms of visual slickness and audio but as with Nintendo consoles, didn't over the variety of games that SEGA did. It was none the less a great system with a lot to offer and consumed countless hours of my childhood. Who needed fresh air and sunshine when you could be saving the Earth from the demons of Hell or handing out beat downs as a giant toad with shades on.

A system that almost seemed underground because so many people seemed to be snatching up Super Nintendos. The Genesis seemed like a kind of secret that the one cool friend of yours let you in on. Back before stores checked to see how old you were before selling you a game, it was awesome to play a "raunchy" game like Beavis and Butthead or a gory game like Splatterhouse 3.

A fun system with a lot of bells and whistles and I love playing it but it lacks the nostalgic factor that so many other systems seem to have going for them. Granted that's because nostalgia is often reserved for things we tie to our childhood memories it's understandable how the 360 wouldn't fall into the category but it still kicks ass and offers a variety games that neither of the other systems do (minus exclusives) and make game shopping a quest all it's own and for that XBOX 360 I salute you.
