Also, no offense, but I can't stand people saying "Anything not Lil' Wayne." It is said so much that it is now just a generic phrase with no meaning and usually a poorly informed basis.
i'm not sure what the friday show will be as i don't know if it will be just for gb or the whole whiskey crew. but if it is solely a giant bomb thing, i will bet money that the next endurance run will be then
after looking at these forum post today (which i don't really use) i can see this weird tension that kind of disappoints me in both the site and the users. on one side is the site. i stumbled onto this site just before the summer and since then have been back pretty much on a daily basis. now i would love nothing more than to give money for all the things that gb had done, but $50 does seem a tad steep. I would be much more willing to give 20 and just get a shirt. but i still understand that money needs to be made. what i don't get it why (as it seems people are concluding) that something like the bombcast would be changed in order to obtain more paid subscribers. this seems to have no real benefit except taking advantage of people who don't care about money and those who just want to keep their gb experience as close as the can to how it was before. I would bet money that more people would have given money if it was simply a donation fund and you could just give what you want similar to wikipedia. i don't think most of the people here are those that would take advantage of a situation and just ride the free train but would instead give what ever they could to support this community.
the worst part though is coming from the members of the gb community. every new forum discussion seems to be full of either "here is my money. anyone who does not give money does not deserve this site." or "fuck you giant bomb. you suck. i hate this place." few post are like this one where people are actually discussing the changes. to me, this move of paid subscriptions seems to do exactly what they said they would not do; spit the community. maybe something will change. or maybe they will get the 5k subscribers and all this will be for nothing.
i'm still on the fence for subscribing but i still have not seen the reasoning behind this split. so does that mean that each week the paid members get a full 2 to 2.5 hour podcast while members not paying get the first hour of a new edited podcast and the 2nd hour of last weeks podcast?
