I know it's economically feasible for them to make the movies. I just wish they wouldn't :P Sort of like how I wish for world peace, but that's unlikely to happen as well.

I wish they would stop releasing Milla Jovovich RE movies. With each new film, they find new elements of the series to bastardize. By the looks of things, they're going to have "super Jovovich" kill Wesker, retconning even more. Joy.

For the most part, this machine is just meant to be a portable work machine and media center, with the option for gaming if I felt like it while travelling. As stated in my first post, most of my hardcore gaming is done on my desktop PC.

My biggest issue, is I'd like a future-proofed ultraportable laptop which is capable of playing newer games if I felt like it while away from my desktop (which I am often as a student). This one seemed to be the best at fulfilling those needs, but I just wanted to get some input from several sources before I took the plunge.

I agree that the M15x and M17x look nice, but I'm leaning more towards the portability provided by this one.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I appreciate it :)

That's the thing I found strange. I'm normally one of the first people to rag on anything with the Alienware brand on it, but this laptop is surprisingly affordable and seems to be much more powerful than any other notebook of that size. I guess it had something to do with the Dell acquisition? :S

PS1:
Suikoden II
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Parasite Eve 1 and 2
Xenogears Black Label
Secret of Mana
Final Fantasy VII Black Label
Star Ocean the Second Story
Final Fantasy Anthology
Final Fantasy Chronicles
Chrono Cross Black Label

Once the next generation of consoles came out, "rare" games became a lot less valuable and rare in general, but of the ones since then...

La Pucelle Tactics

Valkyrie Profile 2
Disgaea Black Label
The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga
Shadow of Rome
Castlevania Curse of Darkness
Castlevania Lament of Innocence
Onimusha Blade Warriors
The entire original dot Hack series
Wild Arms Altered Code F
Mushihimesama Futari Ver. 1.5

I had a bunch of rare JRPGs from the SNES, but like an idiot, sold most of them when I "upgraded" to the next generation way back when. I had a copy of Chrono Trigger, FFIII (VI), FFII (IV), and a few others. I wish I had them back :(

Hi guys,

My old laptop (a Dell 700M that I bought back in 2005) died a couple of weeks ago, finally offering me the excuse I've needed to buy a laptop with a bit more punch. After looking through many different options, this little 11" beauty caught my eye.

Most of my gaming is done on my homebrew rig that I built last year and have been performing rolling upgrades on, however I figured I would get a laptop that would at least afford me the opportunity to play games when I travel, having used a laptop with a 64MB integrated video card and 512MB RAM for over 5 years... At the same time, I want something ultraportable because I'm a student that is constantly on the move with my laptop, and I found my old 12" laptop to be really convenient in that regard.

I just wanted to see people's opinions on this thing before I bought it, since it seems like a really good bang for the buck, but at the same time the processor seems like it could be a serious bottleneck in any computation intensive games:

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm Canadian, as are most of my family. We have a pretty strong Irish bloodline though.

Although I can see in an abstract sense what Russia is trying to do by posting Stalin's face everywhere, I think it's definitely the wrong course of action to be taking. In a best case scenario, people see Stalin and understanding his deplorable acts, takes the representation of what his face means as a symbol as opposed to a glorification.

In a worst case (and probably much more likely) scenario, people will be outraged by the fact that Stalin's face is being displayed in public again, decades after people from Russia thought they would never again have to live under a tyrannical ruler. It's also likely that many people remembering Stalin's rule will be reminded of less happy times.

I think this campaign is in terrible taste personally.
