Another 3rd person action game. I like some of the Sony exclusives, but man there is zero variety.

Whoa Debbie Downer! To lump Horizen, God of War, Spider-Man, and Days Gone into the same bucket as just "3rd person action games" with no variety seems pretty reductive, as they couldn't feel more different from one another... I mean these are some amazing games - with more to come like Last of Us 2, Judgement, Shenmue 3, the Medieval Remake, and Ghost of Tsushima which will be "more 3rd person games"; but again couldn't be more different from each other.

I would point out you are missing a whole slew of games from Dreams to MLB, Spelunky 2, Detroit, Concrete Genie... Plus all the indie titles/PSN stuff, and VR titles like Tetris Effect, Moss, Astro-Bot, etc... Lots of variety in fact.

-- I mean I guess I see that shooters are missing here -- but besides Killzone Sony was never really in the "shooter genre" business. They've done fairly well with RPGs like FFVII Remake, Ni No Kuni 2, and got some exclusivity on Persona, Nier and DQXI -- I wouldn't mind some wacky stuff like Ape Escape and Parappa myself. But I'm not going to slight them at what they've provided the past few years.

I'm kind of over stamina and degrading weapons and needing to constantly top up fuel and those kind of shenanigans

Agreed, at least Mad Max you could take one gas can with you (which they complain you cant here). And you upgraded your car quick enough that by like hour 3 gas wasn't even an issue once in my playthrough. Where i saw Vinnie struggle a few times in this video already... That's like the hunger meter in games, or the weight limit in Fallout -- no one likes that. :)

Id also point out they joke about "calling your bike" like a Red Dead horse, but in Mad Max you had the hunchback on your car - you 100% could call your car!!!! Should have figured out something here...

@brad - Its a shame its not out on other platforms yet for faithful fans of the series - but I guess i might want this on Switch anyway - as i dont have a ton of games to play on it right now; (hence why Steamworld Dig 2 sold so well!)..
They did say SWD2 sold 10 times as much on Switch as it did Steam. They didn't attribute that to bigger fans or anything though, just that hitting a console at launch when there is nothing else to play on it is the way to do it! They sold well on Playstation 4 with the original Steamworld Dig because they hit the launch window there too:

"[We had] been rewarded for being an early adopter in the past, too. Just months after the PS4 launched, we ported the original SteamWorld Dig. It was a hit.

“We had no idea what to expect in terms of sales,” said Sigurgeirsson. “Also, at that time Sony's tracking system was down and they had to tell me the total figure over the phone. I remember being pleasantly surprised! In general that means that having a game ready when a new platform rolls out is very important, a key factor to good sales.”

Word up on the shout up to Baten Kaitos. Probably my favorite game that generation.

I would totally buy Baten Kaitos collection on Switch.

Or a new one! We are drowning in remakes, collections, re-releases and ports. I would love some new games or some new entries in series i like :) i still have my Gamecube hooked up even though it doesnt look great, and if i ever see a decent that HDMI adapter for it go on sale for less than $70- $100 i can actually play those games again!... ha-ha

Xbox Ultimate Game Pass -- Why was the Bombcrew so happy and up on this service on this podcast!? Just curious. Do you not see the forest through the trees?

Its the only bundle Ive ever heard of that was announced with fanfare and a press release that doesn't save you a single penny for bundling them. Why do you think this exists guys?
I mean when i got Spotify and Hulu bundled together it was like saving me $5 a month... And when Hulu dropped their price $2, the bundle price dropped $2 too!
Yet there is honestly no single positive for the consumer in the Ultimate Pass announcement... Why are you happy about it? I'm just curious. To me its obviously just a way for Microsoft to bundle Gold Live (and $5 a month) to everyone using their Gamepass service, (which is rumored to be going out to every device imaginable soon including Switch*), sneak Gold into GamePass for everyone to pay for without even realizing - where as right now an actual Xbox user would be the only one paying for $5 a month Gold.

Its a $5 a month money train they dont want to lose (understandably). Corporations never do anything in your best interest... How can I get everyone to pay that then? Hmmmm
I don't want Gold, so Id rather have cheaper GamePass. And its not being forced right now, yet; but you know on the next Xbox or if this comes to Switch, the Ultimate Game Pass will be the only way to buy Game Pass...

*I will still be very surprised to see it on Switch, but thats the internet rumor I keep hearing.

8K is nothing more then the new PR buzzword. I'm so tired of both Microsoft and Sony promising higher resolutions instead of concentrating on making the games run good.

Would love it if the new consoles would focus on actually hitting 60fps or above instead of chasing resolutions that the hardware cant handle. But they wont.

Well lucky for you Phil Spencer said to Jeff on the couch at E3 that the next gen for him was focusing on just that, CPU upgrades to make framerate the priority and I don't see any reason why Sony wouldn't do the same.

Sony literally has a super successful TV division that will want to sell you 8k TVs in 3 years.

PHYSICAL COPY!!! Do you want this game as a physical copy not a digital download!? I know I did!
Well here is how you do that - buy the Japanese version!

PS4 is region free (I think Switch is as well?), and the trilogy is on disc over in Japan, and it has the same English options! So for $30 you can go on PS4 and get a digital copy, (with tax will be like $32), or for $33.01, (just went and added to my cart to see exact price), you can buy the physical copy - and that was with shipping already included.
Mine came from Amazon.jp in like a week, so for the same price, its neat to have a physical copy with a Japanese cover (I never really imported much). Makes it seem way cooler!
I actually got mine before it released in the USA :)

Amazon Japan was easy to shop from, there is a little globe next the search bar which says "JP" by default (Japanese), just click it and scroll down to "EN" (English) and most of their web pages are translated now! I had to sign up for a separate Amazon.jp account as its not identical to Amazon.com, but I didn't have to pay any extra or anything, it was real easy. It knew who I was. And I just paid with my credit card like usual.

It does say "this title not available to ship outside of the USA" on this page for some reason??? But I literally did buy it and have it so thats not true! :)

@VinnyCaravella - MASKS!
https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2015/06/22/416466284/will-a-surgical-mask-keep-you-safe-in-a-viral-outbreak

Do surgical masks on the street keep you safe from flu (virus) and such? So this is an article from NPR that basically says "who knows!?".
Quote: "...there are no good studies looking at how well these masks prevent MERS transmission out in the community, says Geeta Sood, an infectious disease specialist at Johns Hopkins University. "On the street or the subway, for MERS specifically, they're probably not effective..".

I will say logically i dont think they do much - because a virus is too small for any type of cloth mask to stop it. If you can breathe air, you can breathe most airborne disease. You would need a respirator to stop those, (which the article mentions they wear in hospitals). You'd also need to have the mask fitted to your face, which these common surgical masks are not. Its like working with toxic substances/fumes - a surgical mask just isn't going to do anything.
Also, if you come in contact with the virus, then just go home and its on your hands and clothes when you take off the mask... Maybe washing your hands would be more effective??

BUT if its not an airborne disease, then maybe it would help. They wear them in surgery for a reason right? But I think its more for stopping spit, blood spray, gum not popping out of mouth and into the open body, etc...
I mean people spit when they talk, so a sick person wearing it stopping their spit from spraying, or their sneeze being stifled a bit instead of blasting out might help. (You probably eat so much stranger spit every day....). If their diseased glob doesn't fly through the air and land on your lip, hey thats good! But my guess would be the benefit you get verses money spent on the masks/looking goofy/being uncomfortable/maybe getting mask lines on your face -- I wouldn't bother.
Maybe if you covered the mask in some sort of anti-bacterial spray or rubbing alcohol or something, I dunno.
