I LOVED this film - this is my #1 film of the year. The drama really hooked me in and feel for almost every character. The comedy didn't feel forced and felt genuine, and therefore made me laugh hard. The themes of loneliness, dependability, and spiritual freedom, and many others displayed were well-tuned and didn't just feel tacked on. I give it a 4/4.

I love it when its handled right. I love dark comedies like Observe & Report or Bad Santa. Then there's dark comedies not executed well or properly like Very Bad Things.

Awesome review man, however, I can't give THAT much praise on the film like you have.

Yeah as of now I'm giving it a 3.5 out of 4, but I might head towards just a 3/4. I LOVE the action scenes, how the 3D was well-implemented to see more of the universe, and the environment of Pandora. That said, some of the dialogue was bad- I mean come on, "I see you"? And there were moments that, to me, was unintentionally funny (more on that later). Some notes of people crying felt TOO over-played and was embarrassing to hear. The performances were good, even if some felt too overplayed. The best were from Stephen Lang (and yes I agree his character was over-the-top but that's what I loved about it), and Zoe Saldana. Although if I had to nitpick, just a few instances of her acting felt off, again as an example, her crying and whenever she yelled. I guess for the first film of the supposed franchise James Cameron wants, a simple story for everyone so they can more likely be sucked into the universe is justified but sometimes it was too predictable- obviously the biggest predictable element of this movie was, "Will that human screw that hot cat lady?".

Here's more of what I have to say of the film if you wanna check it out lol :

 Awesome reviews, there RHCP

The Goods is a fun rental, and I laughed through most of it.  Star Trek was really good fun and drew me in on a universe I did not have knowledge of because I never watched a single Star Trek episode or film (Although I plan to watch Wrath of Khan soon). Harry Potter 5 I saw twice in theaters, and the movie is okay but really disapointing if you're looking for plot development- its more of a development of the "romantic relationships" these kids have at their "hormonal stage"- ha,ha,ha. The Brothers Bloom looked really interesting, and I love the first few minutes of it which reminded me of Wes Anderson, then they kick into the "last heist" plot that was, to be honest, really confusing and some key points in it made no sense to me or wasn't explained clearly enough in the film whatsoever.

I tried to watch Angels and Demons in one sitting but couldn't, it was boringly bad. Most of the time here's how the movie went "Explain this, explain that, go here, look through here, find a clue, explain that clue, realize what the clue refers to, go to another place that clue refers to" and that goes on forever for me, so I never finished it. First time I saw Inglourious Basterds at the theater, I was confused on what I should rate it as, it dragged so many times for me that I was somewhat disapointed. THEN I saw it again on DVD recently, and watched it two times on DVD, and I've come to like the movie more (this same effect happened to me again when I bought Funny People on DVD). I'm bordering still on really good or great, I still wished some moments in the bar scene or the film references only a TRUE, TRUE filmbuff would know were removed, but nevertheless I recommend it.

The first 10 minutes was perfect- then the film becomes, to me, schizophrenic with its tone- but overall it's good. Fantastic Mr. Fox is better though and should win Best Animated Picture instead of UP.

Saw THE ROAD last night and I really, really like the film. If there was one thing I have to nit-pick is that the actor who played as the boy didn't really pull off a great performance in my opinion. He acted fine, but not enough for me to cry (I guess) towards the end of the film. That said, everything else is great- the other actors are superb and almost unrecognizable (especially Guy Pearce and Robert Duvall for me), the art direction, the music score (when there's intensity, you hear something almost Radiohead-esque) and the themes (of hope & humans being animals) are tuned beautifully.  Like I said, if the ending gave me more of an emotional punch, I would have named it as the Best Picture of the Year, but it should at least be nominated.

3 out of 4.

I give to film 3.5 out of 4 stars- it truly is fantastic. I love everything about it- the art direction, cinematography, and the voice acting in particular for me personally. This is my second favorite film from Wes Anderson's- the first being Rushmore.

It's being marketed as a strict kid's film but it's not at all and it's SO MUCH smarter than those. I hated the first trailer for this movie but went to see it anyways and was surprised. This is one of the best films of the year- and it should beat UP for Best Animated Picture.
