The idea that a Jedi student would somehow learn the ability to FREEZE TIME before they learn how to nudge a rock is hilarious to me.

@bonelessspirit: It sucks that legitimate feedback always winds up being ignored because militant assholes quickly poison the well and drown out all reasonable conversation, but the actual bottom line is that telling people to write off a creative work as misogynist, cynical, and nihilistic because you’ve specifically created a misogynist, cynical, and nihilistic experience through your own choices is an irresponsible and misleading thing to do. If I’d worked on this, I’d have preferred Giant Bomb not cover it at all.

@steveurkel: You do realize, I’m sure, that video games are made by people too, and that negatively misrepresenting the product of years of their labor to an audience of thousands arguably does more harm than perfectly reasonable criticism of one person dropping the ball one time.

Giant Bomb informs and entertains. Some prefer the latter, and there’s no shortage of Playdates, UPFs, and other shows to scratch that itch. But Quick Looks are primarily intended to inform, and this one did a really poor job of that. The idea that some people seem to have that critics should themselves be protected from any and all criticism of their own work is absurd.

This Quick Look is the equivalent of buying a new manual transmission car without ever having learned to drive stick, not bothering to read any reference material, then complaining that it doesn’t go fast enough because you can’t get it out of first gear. Who does that serve in any way?

This is the worst quick look I've seen in ages and I nearly missed out on an incredible experience because of it. Absolutely loving what I've played so far despite the wild misrepresentations I saw here. Thanks, Giant Bomb!

“Speaking of tossed salads... [sole female coworker]” is a pretty weird joke to make, Vinny.

For someone supposedly well versed in improvisation, Abby sure does like to spike the ball sometimes. What on earth was with that Groundhog Day segment? Vinny kept trying to blow it out into something wild and Abby just flatly shot it down over and over. Between that and the sous vide discussion, I’m starting to realize there are times when she sounds almost as dismissive as Old Dan.
