I have been sticking with swords as primary and spears as secondary. I find that wielding swords allow me to be more aggressive when engaging revenants, while spears are good for bosses/enemies that require that extra reach (not to mention some of the later humanoid enemies that don't flinch at regular attacks but are susceptible to the spear's position swap). Someone should make a poll so we can see the numbers! =)

Yeah, it seems as though they just remix both the enemy placement and enemy type to try to force players to adapt and try new strategies. I'm actually really enjoying them. Also I think you are right about the bosses having extra abilities (and probably more health/stats too): Onryoki gets an extra fast (much less animation wind-up) ball-chain throw during his second state in the twilight level.

I did the vampire lady twilight mission last night and thought it was a cool twist on the regular mission. Also it seemed like the boss had an extra attack on her umbrella combo but I'm not sure if she just didn't do that my first time fighting her.

It's funny how I kinda already knew all that, but for some reason didn't want to do any of it until you've just spelt it out. I think I will go back later and try to craft a katana that suits my play style =) I imagine it gets super expensive at some point? I realized that prices go up disproportionately when you soul match high level coloured loot. Do you generally stick with coloured loot or just plain normal ones, and reforge those? Also I'm guessing you would always want a weapon with the highest familiarity potential.

@zevvion said:

@ares42: Soul Matching raises the level of your gear. It doesn't ever become obsolete in that sense. I have dual swords now that I've already Soul Matched upwards of 30 levels higher and it is still by far the best weapon I have. I doubt you ever have to get perfect gear per se, it's just something you can do if you want to play more Nioh I think.

@oursin_360 Your chances of certain rarity when forging depends on the quality of materials you use. If you use exotic quality materials for every single slot, you have 35% chance to get an exotic. It is how I got my weapon that I'm using now (it took a bunch of tries though). It's useful if you want a specific weapon. I needed this one because I was only finding dual swords that scaled with Skill and Strength. But I needed Skill and Heart. I got a crap exotic roll after a few tries and then after a while I got a pretty decent one with life steal and fire damage. Then, I reforged a bunch of the perks and ultimately added an inherited perk. It's super badass now. But that's only one weapon. I can do the same for a Spear which is my secondary and all the armor.

@fatalbanana: Yeah, that sounds great. I'll send a message to ctroy1.

Looking forward to do some multi-player with you all.

@big_denim: Hey! Sorry for the late response. Truthfully I had given up on getting a response from this thread, but am still interested. Time wise, the difference looks to be 11 hours ahead. I usually game around 8 pm - 10 pm, so that would be 7 am - 9 am your time? It looks rather inconvenient, so don't worry if you'd rather not. But feel free to add me anyway.

Also I just realized that my internet connection is normally around 10 mbps and can peak up to 20, which is not terrible at all (internationally) and so ping might not be as big as an issue as I thought it would be.

Greetings everyone,

I was hoping to get a multi-player party going to play the following games:

1. Helldivers;

2. God Eater Resurrection and Rage Burst

And hopefully if the turnout is good, maybe move on to some of the other games I have always wanted to play, but never did:

3. Gangbeasts;

4. Earth Defense Force 4.1;

5. Toukiden Kiwami

6. Warhammer: Vermintide;

My steam ID is 'den7525' (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198018328254). Also just thought that anyone interested should be aware that I am currently based in Brunei (South-East Asia) so the difference in internet-speed/ping could be quite significant (my peak internet speed is 10 mbps).

Thanks. Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hey everyone, I am actually looking for people to play helldivers on steam. I am aware that the last post on this topic was nearly a year ago. By any chance are any of you still interested in playing through the campaign from scratch (I have just started a new game)?

My steam id is 'den7525'.

Edit: Also just FYI, I am currently based in Brunei (South-East Asia), so the internet-speed/ping has quite a gap compared to most internet speeds outside thee region.

@shinjin977: Hiya, good to make your acquaintance (also yay! At least one reply! =D ) I finished D3 on ps3, but would really like to buy it again on the pc. I am currently just waiting for a sale atm; that being said I know that OW is going for a reduced price (I might get that). I have the full SC2 Trilogy installed on my rig and wouldn't mind doing the cooperative commander mode (I suck at competitive multiplayer so it's really not worth challenging me haha! FYI: I play almost identical to the AI on normal difficulty). I've sent you a request on BNET, ID: "HermitJar".

I have always wanted to get a somewhat localized group for online multiplayer going, but based on the number of views vs replies, it might not be feasible. My current internet speed is somewhere between 8.5 - 10 mbps. Is that doable for online play?

Edit: Anyone interested in playing Helldivers and God Eater 2 with me?

Greetings Giant Bomb community,

I'm just putting this out here to get an idea of what the GB gaming community is like in my region. I am currently living in Brunei Darussalam (FYI: 26, M, does not engage in trash-talk), and I am interested in meeting people from around that region (SE Asia basically) in hopes of playing multiplayer games on steam (totally open to playing on consoles as well, but just not as familiar). In fact I would love to have multiplayer sessions with those outside the region too if they don't mind the (probably) large gap in ping and time differences. The main motivation for this post is the steam autumn sale: there are quite a few titles on sale at the moment that I have always wanted to get, but have decided against since most, if not all, of my friends do not play video games.

Games that motivated the generation of this post:

1. Helldivers;

2. Warhammer: Vermintide;

3. Gangbeasts;

4. Earth Defense Force 4.1;

5. Toukiden Kiwami

6. God Eater Resurrection and Rage Burst (love everything about these games, but I really would prefer to have a party of real people backing me up! Completed Resurrection and Vanilla GE2 solo, but willing to play all over again just so I can have that lovely feeling of strategizing with actual people);

7. And of course I am open to trying other multiplayer games!

Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you all. Also apologies in advance if I am slow to reply, juggling work and games can sometimes get tricky (yes, I am at that stage in life where juggling is important, but don't worry! I make time for games!). My steam ID is "den7525", which is a UK steam account, currently set to using the Singapore download-region/servers.

Sincerely,

t_wah

@theacidskull: Nah, it's alright. I think I've already formed quite a firm opinion for this game and the series' plot =) I may not be happy with some of LoS2's gameplay design and the somewhat flawed ending (and also probably won't remember it down the line) but I am nevertheless very happy to have experienced the LoS series. Especially that first game. For some reason playing through that game reminds me of the feeling I used to get when watching an epic adventure movie as a kid. It made several hours felt like years of exciting adventure.
