Anime Vice's Quick Picks 9-26-12

This week on Anime Vice's Quick Picks, just like the last (and then one before), there's a lot to choose from. We have some magic, some element-bending, art classes, pirates, guilds, and more. What will you pick? After my co-authors and I give our recommendations, be sure to tell us what your picks are in the comment section below.

Bigheart711's Pick: My pick for this week is the Cardcaptor Sakura manga. The Omnibus volume came out just as I began watching the anime series. It was right after finding an image of Sakura and Keroberos and making it my wallpaper. So, I would like to read the manga version sometime soon for fun since it's being released after all.

Now is the time for people to admit the feelings for other people they've held secret... but there are so many feelings, running in so many directions! What are the true desires of Eriol, the powerful young boy who is the reincarnation of Clow Reed... and why did he wish that Sakura would replace him as Master of the Clow?
Story and art by CLAMP.
GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class

sora_thekey's Pick: Surprisingly enough, my pick this week is not Avatar. My pick is the fourth volume of GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class. I'll be honest, I haven't read this series, but when I caught a glimpse of the title I was immediately interested. Anybody who's met me knows that I spend half of my time drawing (I'm not very good) and a manga that is completely focused on an art class is right up my alley. That's probably why I like Bakuman so much. Although I'm not such a big 4-koma manga fan, I am willing to give this series a try. I did love Lucky Star and that was based on a 4-koma manga.

It's time once again for art school, full of the spirit, love, and laughter of youth! Kisaragi and the GA girls return to class, shifting their focus to the history of Western fashion and textiles. But as with every serious art lesson in this department, crazy antics (not to mention a game of dress-up and a food fight) are never far off! And when the GA welcomes a new face - a transfer student from France - will the department's regulars scare off the new girl and make her hightail it back to her homeland?!
Story and art by Satoko Kiyuduki.
Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise

takashichea's Pick: My pick is Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise since I own volumes 1 and 2. I was curious what happens in the postwar era of the original Avatar series. I thought Legend of Korra would fill in the gaps, but it didn't. So, this is a must have comic trilogy for all Avatar fans. If you thought the happy ending of the Avatar series solves everything, this comic series will change your mind.

The Harmony Restoration Movement has failed, and the four nations are plunged back into war! In the midst of the battle, can Aang and Fire Lord Zuko mend the rift between them, or will Aang be forced to take actions that can't be undone?
Story by Gene Luen Yang and Art by Gurihiru.

If the images don't work, I'm sorry and I'll fix it later. The school's computer is crappy.

Posted by Bigheart711

AH! I forgot we can post these as blogs on here too. How long have you been doing this? All the inages work even though some of 'em are rather small.

Posted by takashichea

@Bigheart711:

Only this one time. I hesitated and did not insert in the forum threads. Sorry about that. I still feel like a stranger here in Giant Bomb.

I had problems with the school computer when I was copying and pasting the table. I should have just uploaded the images.

Your video games images are big; my Rightstuf images are thumbnail size.
