As a huge fan of the ME trilogy, I feel like I should be incredibly disappointed by what Bioware put out here, but I just find myself shrugging and not really caring. Maybe it's the fact that it drowns in the sea of fantastic games that have come out/are coming out this year, or maybe Bioware really should have just left the book closed on Mass Effect. After seeing most coverage out there, Andromeda went from a "wait for a sale" purchase to a "maybe I'll actually just pass on this one."
Also, this is not what I had imagined when I heard the premise for this game. I expected some Star Trek: Voyager crew-struggles-to-survive-in-an-unfamiliar-galaxy plot, but what we got seems like a casual jaunt into a new galaxy which seems way less interesting.
Okay, Dan not knowing things and being inquisitive is fine, but when a huge chunk of a long Quick Look is dedicated to "Dan's Learning Time" maybe we didn't need a two hour video.
Regardless, I really can't tell if I'd enjoy playing this or not. It makes me wish there was some kind of demo of just like a single solar system or something just so I could get my hands on it before dropping $60.
I'm actually very curious to know what the Fire Emblem universe reason for them being here is. Especially since it might explain why there are only characters from Shadow Dragon and Awakening.
I'd honestly be fine with ignoring the choices of Season 2. Rather than rebound off of a somewhat disappointing season, the idea of just a brand new story with Clem appeals to me way more.
