Seeing as how we are now 8 episodes in, I suppose this is pretty much what we're in for for the next 40 or however many. Dan will continue to laud his own playstyle while ignoring the hundreds of comments that explain how to do the multitude of things you can try in this game. Drew will continue to stick to only the things that Dan said worked for him, largely ignore the Mother Base management and Side-ops, grumble when Dan suggests listening to a tape, run around in a black suit in broad daylight never even trying to crouch or crawl, and mow down entire bases when his SMG suppressor wears out.
And he will finish the game largely without issue. Yeah, it'll be sloppy as hell and a struggle and hard to watch at times, but he'll get it done. Drew obviously has no interest in engaging in the sparse story if it's not presented to him in cutscenes, or any non-mandatory content, and people need to realize that. But hey, watching him fumble around murdering his own men, throwing guys out windows, and putting his buddies directly in the line of fire is honestly pretty fun though.
So strap in for 40 more hours of talking about tasers, war movies, and "goobers".
@rethla: Drew is nowhere near being able to do your second option there. The missions that recommend missiles recommend them for a reason. Later in the game you have plenty of options, but for where Drew is now he can realistically only use grenade launchers or C4. Sure you can use enemy mortars and that one tank they give you, but when you're under a time limit you're not going to run around finding those and figuring out how to use them.
Besides, seeing how Drew plays, he would probably go the missile route regardless of his other options.
@kraine: One of the optional objectives is to listen to their conversation. Basically they just talk about how all their shit is getting f'ed up thanks to Big Boss and then they plan on setting mines in low defense areas. Nothing terribly interesting, though I think this mission is the one that triggers enemy soldiers' ability to adapt to your play style like using helmets and such.
A much quicker way to complete the mission is to let them all meet up, sneak to their meeting spot and then just mow all three down at once. But we all know that Drew likes to roll in hard and fast. (and walk around in a black suit in broad daylight)
@bobeta: It's not that people are angry that Drew isn't playing how they did or want, it's more that we all want to see Drew experiment and find out how he likes to play. However, it seems like his play style is being railroaded by Dan's suggestions of how he played and his (quite frequent) misinformation. For example, championing that Riot SMG while not telling Drew he could aim down sights to be more accurate with the pistol, telling Drew that CQC slams are the way to go when Drew could also choke guys out, use them as shields, interrogate them, or hold them up to quickly neutralize them. Instead, Drew will throw guys every time because he now thinks that's the best and only way.
No one is expecting Drew to play like a pro, (and if you are, get out) but I want to watch how Drew plays MGSV, not necessarily how Dan plays MGSV.
