" @TheFrostedGamer: Why does it matter that the Source Engine is old? World At War doesn't use a new engine either "

I guess that all depends on who you're talking to I guess. To Valve, if they sell a billion Source Engine games, it doesn't matter at all. If the sales are right, it's a solid, safe engine. I guess I consider the Source Engine old because it's been around since at least '04, and none of the subtle changes have changed my mind about it. The environments have a "flat" feel to them, and I find the "gunplay" far less satisfying/immersive than in a few other engines. I've never had any real issues with any of the Call of Duty engines (on the PC side), and I think that engine has only gotten better over time. No one said you couldn't lol at me for liking Nazi Zombies. Why can't I prefer COD's engine?

This. I try to respect everyone's opinion on this site, but the fact that the OP thinks Nazi Zombies is better than Left 4 Dead made me lol hard. "
Oh don't worry, I'm not looking for respect from random strangers on the internet. Don't hold anything back. When the original Farcry came out for PC, I was loling at people who preferred Half Life 2 over it. I judge FPS's harshly, and a big part of it is the actual engine. The Source engine is crazy old now, and even in 2004 it was flat and non-immersive to me. By comparison to better engines anyway. Valve is the Blizzard of FPS: High-presentation games, but if they can get away with churning out games on an old engine for 20 years, it's all good. But don't worry - I understand all the reasons behind someone liking L4D more.

I'm always the host when I play online, so I'm always Tank Dempsey (the american soldier). He says oorah a bunch. But I agree, it's goofy. Once you're in the game, and feeling the context, it's whatever. It's kinda like in Left 4 Dead videos when you see people yelling "reloading" a lot. At first glance it's kinda goofy, but you start to think about covering each other's reloads and it makes sense. I dunno.

COD: World at War was definitely a 4/5 game, but I think many websites downplay how great Nazi Zombies mode had became. I've also always felt Nazi Zombies was far better than Left 4 Dead (CoD Engine vs Source Engine). Anyway, just got finished playing in solo mode and I screenshot'd the end.  Technically my best (on the Der Riese map) is Round 26 in solo mode, and Round 33 with 2 guys online (no cheats either mode).
Any other NZ fans would like to post their high scores, feel free.

After watching this video for the 20th time I've started to really think about my life and where it's going.

After I take a shower I'm going to watch it again.

" Are you seriously going to tell me that in an age where people were bitching, and STILL bitch about - WAHH WAHH WAHH - I don't have any physical media disk, I dont have a pretty box to look at, I dont know if I own any of my games wah wah wah - that people have now started bitching about how good a system Steam is, when taking into account their potential competition?  Let's break this down here.  Valve came up with the idea of steam to validate their own games. The system worked well enough that pusblishers, more and more, are starting to jump onboard because the system works, and by God it works pretty well. Fuck, Valve has sales, it was probably one of the first distribution models that I have ever seen to say, hey guys, 10% price drop this weekend only! 15% price drop if you pre-order now. That shit is just fucking awesome.  So now we are thinking about penalizing companies who come up with a good idea, and a rock solid business model on the grounds that they did it first, best and now their competition needs to play catch up?  Fuck that.  If another company wants my business, here's an idea. Impress me. "

This news story is starting to annoy me so much I might go buy a bunch of Valve games on Steam, then pirate Borderlands when it comes out. Gearbox of all companies taking jabs at Valve for being the only company that actually does anything positive for the PC Platform. UGH. UGH! Gearbox would sell out the PC Platform faster than Megan Fox could beat you at thumb wrestling.

I have no idea why he all of a sudden started this campaign against Valve's business practices. It's like all of us rallying behind K-mart because Walmart does it better. Direct2Drive straight up sucks compared to Steam. Steam does what Steam does better than any other, and their weekly deals are great. Steam upholds a high level of quality with their client, and I'm sure Valve cares if a game they sell doesn't get the proper support from the developers. I just can't think of any scenario in my experiences with Steam where I felt they were doing anything "wrong". It's always been a situation where they were the only ones doing what everyone else was supposed to be doing: consolidating the PC platform into one service and doing it with quality. The "deals" are just icing on the cake. Great icing I do say. I think it's utterly comical for Pitchford to say Steam is a "conflict of interest" because Valve is also a developer. Valve is one of the only quality developers left that still has a strong foundation on the PC Platform because they actually care about the PC Platform. Gearbox started out how? Porting Brothers in Arms games from PS2 to PC? And they really care about the PC Platform? hahahaha. Borderlands will probably go on to sell enough console copies that Randy "Moral High Ground" Pitchford can safely release it on the PC. But do you really think he has loyalty to the PC Platform like Valve does? Seriously?
