Set yourself a round number target. IE 250. Then just commit to stopping once you hit it.

That way your personal best streak will look cool, and you'll remember the achievement of reaching that number, rather than the day you missed adding to it .

I find a modded SNES Mini to be a perfect way into my beginner emulation needs. It has everything I need: Ease of use, a retro form factor, good controller, and very customisable. Plus it looks like a SNES - which is a personal thing, but makes a big difference to me.

Honestly, after about 10-12 hours I'm done with most games. I search HLTB hoping to see as low a number as possible.

One GTA length game a generation is enough for me.

I bought my first N64 in 2014. Sold it last week.

Got both my OG Xbox and Series S on day one. Other Xboxes we're about a year after launch.

I have never purchased a micro-transaction in any game ever, my "additional purchases" in games have been for genuine content: Some Halo 3 map packs, extra decks in Solitairica, DLC in Jurassic World Evolution, and some Forza Horizon expansions. That's it, pretty much.

I will never buy xp boosts, FIFA coins, cosmetics, battle passes, or limited use items of any kind.

So whilst they "don't work" on me, I also look down on any game that includes them. I think they are a stain on the industry, and should be heavily regulated by governments as the games industry has proven itself incapable of doing so themselves.

The child gambling and addiction generation they fuel is disgusting.

I agree that this is best viewed as an "art project" rather than a game, but is still certainly a game.I enjoyed it quite a lot, but echo others that the puzzles got very trial and error at times. It can be obtuse, but the concept is great and the length is right. I was doing a chapter per session and was having to relearn stuff each time I played. I finished the last two chapters (and then the 2012 demo) in one session and definitely got quicker with the puzzles playing it in a longer session. Glad I played it. Onto The Pedestrian now. I really like this thread concept.

I have no interest in super heroes and have only seen one mcu movie, can't remember which one it was as it was a cinema trip with friends years ago. It went as I'd expect plot wise.

I don't hate them per say, but I think there are too many of them, and I can't understand why people want to see the same "save the world" nonsense repeated over and over.

Each to their own I guess. Plenty for me to watch still.

I will actively hunt down short games, and use HLTB hoping to see a low number. I have a wife and my first child is on the way, I don't need to be starting 20hour+ games.

One the rare occasions I buy an open world ubigame, I will mainline that shit. Watch Dogs Legion being the last one. (Completed in 27h according to Xbox stats)

GTA/Read Dead are exceptions as I enjoy R* games enough to justify their length and they come out so infrequently I can justify it. If they were annual franchises, I wouldn't bother.

I get that this makes me the outlier (I think) but it suits me.

Also, I love how game pass allows me to "quick look" on my own. Most games I'll play for an hour or so, get a handle on the mechanics and then drop, knowing it'll be rinse and repeat for the next however many hours. Videogame stories are rarely worth seeing through anyway and if something does happen to grab me, I'll finish it.

Wonder if ubi+ will come to game pass a la EA Play at some point? This news is just going to further encourage me not to buy anything Ubisoft as it might come to game pass down the line. Far Cry 6 can keep waiting.

Also, Ubisoft suck!
