@tournamentofhate: From what I understand, Iron Brigade is a Microsoft game, and they have no plans to rescue any of their games from the GFWL graveyard. Sorry.

Well that sucks. :( Guess I better play it before it's gone. Cheers.

Not to derail from Dark Souls but does anybody know what's going to happen with Iron Brigade? I just bought it a little while ago and not sure if it'll be around after GFWL goes away.

@tournamentofhate: yeah unfortunately English Oliver is a wee bit annoying. Drippy is really the only stand out in English, maybe the only bearable one even. But I'll say this much: the text translations are hilarious and awesome, Oliver included. Drippy is still welsh or scottish or whatever he is (sorry, ignorance). The Japanese VO is really reminiscent of an actual Miyazaki film, which is to say it's full of personality. I've had some laugh out loud moments in the cutscenes, which never happens to me. It's always obvious whose talking and they not only emote physically pretty well but their being very emotional with their voices, so I really don't think you miss much in Japanese. Plus, one of the minor sweet touches to Ni No Kuni is how well produced it is. It takes all of 30 seconds to save/quit, hit the main menu to change the VO, and pop right back to where you were.

Awesome, thanks for the extra info.!

Now, for all the hullabaloo that was made about the English localization (and it's great, no doubt) I found myself playing in Japanese after only a few hours. Yeah, Mr. Drippy's accent is hilarious and all but I found Oliver and the rest of the cast much more likeable in Japanese, and Mr. Drippy's mannerisms/animations sync up much better with his original voice work. His dialect, even to non-Japanese speakers, is obviously different from the rest, so much of his "uniqueness" is preserved.

Kinda glad I read this. I've had the game for awhile but haven't really started playing it yet. That makes sense that his animations would be more in sync with the original voice work, and I've heard from others that Oliver can be a bit annoying, so I might try it out in Japanese if I'm not digging it.

looks fun...but i still wont download it, i have sworn not to play any game from deep silver after the epic "ride to hell retrebution"

That's stupid, misguided, backwards thinking. Your loss.

So Deep Silver saves Volition and the Saints Row franchise from non-existing but you won't play it because of some other game they released? Fucked up.

Volition is certainly aware that people will play through it without paying anything, but hopefully they'll still buy it if they like it enough(also on sale for $20). It seems more like a nice gesture and maybe just to get all the people that thought it wasn't anything more than glorified DLC to get on board.

Is a game like Battlefield 4 ever finished? How many games get released knowing that they're not done with plans to just patch it post-release, even with a Day 1 patch. When is a game really ever finished?

Cool. I find it kinda strange how much thought giant bomb seems to put into how to properly categorise their videos and new feature ideas when at the end of the day it's all just them playing video games with some funny commentary. Make more of the funny less of the thinky. Were "unfinished" games not getting coverage just because they didn't fit into the very loose definition of a "quick look"? Who cares?

I think it's the GB audience that cares more than the staff. People lost their shit when Patrick did a QL by himself because QLs "had to be with multiple people".

Anyway, this sounds great and I'm glad we got to see that e-mail. Thanks!

@the_nubster: As far as I know, that's not correct. They've never said anything like that (correct me if I'm wrong). What I've heard them say is that they were waiting on the insurance going through, which could take a good while. It would be absolutely INSANE if the equipment wasn't insured against more or less everything possible by CBSi.

edit: And they've never talked about a green screen studio. I would imagine that being way, way down on the list of priorities.

I remember Jeff telling Ryan MacDonald that he couldn't borrow any GB equipment because they didn't have any to spare because CBSi wouldn't replace their stolen gear. Also I think it was during the Halo marathon over a year ago that Drew said they wanted a green screen. No idea if they still plan on having that. They haven't done a video review since coming to CBSi almost two years ago so maybe they just don't think it's worth the time to do one?

Listening to Jeff's new Jar Time he says he hopes this ad money from the Bombcast could bring in some more people, he hopes for 4-5. I'm rooting for Danny but I think that would be a massive blow to Gamespot as he definitely seems like the fan favourite over there.

I thought the same thing, and then near the end I thought just Sam would have after Lonnie left her. It was the only time in the game that I wanted to sprint, was to the attic because I was worried about Sam. I think going with the ending that they went with was better, and way more uplifting than if they had done what I thought they were gonna do. I feel like that would have been the "easy" ending to go with.
