The Second Playthrough(exciting project)

Hello Bombers, this is a little project I had in my head for a while now so I wanna atleast try it out and see if it can generate some pretty cool results.A general problem with video game journalism of all kinds that has been brought up is the lack of coverage on a game after it releases. I'm not talking about something like the coverage of LittleBigPlanet or Fallout 3 after it immediately releases, I'm talking about games that were released months ago and is now a blur to us gamers since all of the newer games that continues to come out weekly(especially now in the holiday season). So, I'm going to take a look back on games and just write up some opinions and commentary of the game section by section and make an archive of thoughts on it, and I encourage everybody else to do the same. It might be interesting, it might turn out to be completely stupid and a waste of time, but I'm pretty excited about what it might do. Everyone can also agree that it might also save them a buck or two and put off all of these new games that are coming out, and give them a chance to go back to their good old classics. I even came up with a fun little name for this: The Second Playthrough. (I don't care if Playthrough isn't a real word in the dictionary)

So, What's the first game? I decided I shouldn't do these things too far back, so I think it would be interesting to do Grand Theft Auto IV again. I've personally only played through the game once and I didn't go back and do any of the multiple paths, so I'll see what it's like. For people that's never played GTA IV, shame on you, and I will ask you to either leave the conversation or else you will become very spoiled, for you should experience the game on it's own first, not with others :).

Consider this to  be a sparknotes of sorts for the game, I'll post my opinions piece by piece during the story, and we all talk about it since we are beginning to see the story.

On Friday, I'll post up the first section for discussion.

Where's all the cocks in my LBP!?

It is so pleasing to see how awesome the community is in LittleBigPlanet so far. There seems to be so much pretty great stuff out in only the first week.... someone took one of my ideas and turned the fog and color all the way up to red, and made this awesome level where all you see is the sillouhette(sp?) of sackboy's and tree's and fire... it's really awesome to watch....

Plus.... NO PENIS'S! NONE! NADA! CERO!...... I have no clue why I was so excited to see that anyway....

.......

plus the developer levels are amazing.... best platformer in a long time... must own

My Band, Extreme Defoliation, "Doo-Whap"

The concept of extreme defoliation is to be intentionally bad at every music genre, from the pop-rock anthem "Panic at the Frisco", to the street rap of "Money Ain't Cheap"... this is the first video we did of a metal song we just made up 10 seconds before recording.... enjoy

The Music Review?

I dunno, just wanna blog about music on a weekly basis, maybe this would be cool to read..

New TV On The Radio Single: Golden Age
Streaming on http://www.tvontheradio.com/
Definantly not what I was expecting for TV's first single off the album, very atmospheric(of coarse) and kinda dance musicish, I think the chorus has too many noises going on at the same time, and I'm not a fan of the falsetto voice going on through it, but I'm still excited to see TV on the Radio making new CD's. Dear Science will be out September 23rd

Jimmy Page + Jack White + the EDGE = Documentary
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/144772-jack-white-jimmy-page-the-edge-get-loud-in-doc
Director of Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth wants to do a music documentary based on three great guitarists, awesome. It's called It Might Get Loud. It's going to debut later this year at the Toronto Film Festival, hopefully it will get picked up.

Oasis Shocks the Lightning
"The Shock of the Lightning"

Am I stoked about a new Oasis CD? Not really. It sounds really close to any other Oasis song ever made. But for some reason, that doesn't seem to bother me, because Oasis is such a solid band that I enjoy that same sound whenever it comes out. I'll probably end up buying it when it comes out, seeing how the Summer has been really terrible for music(how the hell does Kid Rock get so popular?).

Other than that, nothing spectacular in my opinion this week..... I might go back and check out some stuff I've missed out on this year. I kinda wanna get into Fleet Foxes, but everytime I see a video of them, I'm instantly turned away. I really dont like those sort of "beautiful" bands that aren't named Radiohead.

Just play the damn game if you can.

I think everyone should shut up about what Dennis says, and his attempts at pointing out how stupid the moderators on NeoGaf are(which is obvious), and just play the game. I unfortunately can't, but if I could, I would pick it up if I owned a 360 as a gamefly. It's an interesting looking game with average reviews, it seems like a "love it or hate it" thing.

Let the game speak for itself and not the things that went on behind the scenes

The Lazy Gamer: Pixeljunk Eden

What is the Lazy Gamer?
It's an article I'm doing to show whether or not a game is worth the purchase due to it's easyness to get trophies. The easier the trophies, the higher the score. It's sarcastic and easy to read for those gamers that don't really care about the game, they just want to boost their ranks with trophies

What the hell is Pixeljunk Eden?
A videogame where you play as a little thing that swings around plants and shit and collects spectra, whatever the hell that is.

Who's it made by?
Q-Games, not the guys that made the Lumines, the ones that's led by the dude who made Starfox

Would you kindly list the trophies?
