@Video_Game_King: A little bit later on.. you're being chased by a creature in underground tunnels. In order to escape the creature, you have to run into smaller tunnels that he can't reach you in.

I haven't gotten that far, but I can imagines it to be a big spidery type of creature that gallops like a horse..no thats just my imagination, don't know where that came from. Hey,convergence happens. as long as it is done well with their own take and such, consider it flattery. it's not HL2.ru
It's been a while since I've played Episode 2, and I've good reason not to play it soon. The only thing I really remember is somebody saying the word "misunderestimated" without a hint of humor, sarcasm, awareness, or irony. (If you're curious, it's during the fight with the Antlions, when the Vortigaunt are reviving Alyx or whatever.)
@bybeach: Yes, I understand that the game isn't awful just because it lifted quite a few environmental ideas from HL2.
But it was jarring to me playing through the game and thinking "Hey, this level reminds me a lot of Ravenholm". Then about twenty minutes later you meet a pastor.

Weeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllll, uhmmmmmmmmmmmm, weeelllllllll, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... no more talking to you, Mr. Spoiler! (that would have amused me too, and will!:)
Yup, that was definitely an homage to Ravenholm. Both levels suck just as equally. Going through that on the hardest difficulty was a pain. Good thing my shotgun had incendiary ammo.

I played through Episode 1 and 2 recently. The part you're talking about in Episode 2 is when you help these 2 resistance members hold off the Antlion attack. The "misunderestimated" line, as well as basically every other line they say, is meant to be humourous. They're the closest thing to an idiot comedic relief pair that the Half-Life games have ever had. Most of their dialogue (or at least one of them - the other might've been the straight man) is complaining about their lot in life, completely losing their cool under pressure instead of being a staunch soldier, and generally being dolts.
