The art style is a lot like the games Shank and the Thing-Thing games made by Crazy Monkey Games. Both art styles I really like and are definitely similar. However, I just wish a better game was attached to the great art style here. It looks like it has the potential to be good, but it just didn't quite get there.

I think this game looks really good, has amazing music and has a great cool concept. But I just don't find it very fun to actually play.

I'm in a similar situation. Everything about it seems really interesting, but I just don't think for a second that I would enjoy playing it.

What the hell why do so many people have a hard time knowing what a l'Cie and a fal'Cie are? They explain it to you in FF13 pretty fucking clearly.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with people not liking every game I do, but when someone says that it's confusing and that they don't know the difference between the two and that it sucks because of that, I just can't take them seriously. fal'Cie = god ("god-like being" technically) and l'Cie = Servant of said god-like being. I understood this and remembered it after the first time I was told.

@epsilon82: Just a few things here.

First, I understand that releasing Down is what makes you jump. It's similar to Tony Hawk's PS in that way. You can hold the jump button, and you won't jump until it's released. Just clarifying here.

Second, some of the things you've said simply don't seem to work. If I start a grind and hold the stick, he'll grind the rail, which makes sense, but as soon as I move it, he jumps of the rail. If I start a grind and just try and tap the stick, then as soon as I grind, he will grind for a second and then immediately jump off. I can't move the stick at all once I start to grind. If I do, he will automatically end the grind without doing a trick. I thought the exact same thing that you are saying when I first started, so I tried to put in another combination when I was grinding countless times thinking it would make him do a trick off the rail, but every time he would just jump off without doing anything. This is one of those games that desperately needs a better tutorial, because the ones that are in it are useless.

I'll probably end up trying it again sometime, and maybe it'll click for me then. However, as of right now, the aggravation I feel when just thinking about this game is going to keep me away from it for quite a while.

Thanks for the reply though. I appreciate you trying to help.

I love the idea of this game, but it's been a long time since I've been so irritated by how counter intuitive and just plain frustrating the controls are. I actually like how you have to land tricks and get more points for it, but jumping should be a button, not down on the thumbstick. It's also ridiculously difficult (unless I'm missing something) to do a trick after grinding and jumping off. I don't have a problem with putting in more complex button combinations to do certain tricks (I actually rather like the idea), but the way you're expected to string everything together doesn't present itself as a challenge to be overcome, but rather seems frustrating and overly convoluted by design, which is bad. I may try it out again sometime to see if it clicks, but it's been a while since I've been this annoyed by just how bad the controls are in any game. I'm just glad I got this for free on PS+. If I had payed for it, I would be pissed.

I keep reading about and hearing people talk about "Must Style" mode, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know how to access it? Does it have to be unlocked first?

I love the look of the game. It's kind of a cross between Crysis and Borderlands, which I'm totally ok with. However, everything that surrounds the visuals, like...well...the gameplay, just doesn't seem that interesting and isn't appealing to me at all.

They said that the Vanguard Armory weapons unlock at level 10. The ones I have (or will have) unlock at level 5. Is it random what level they unlock after you redeem the code that comes with the game? Anybody else have them at level 5 like I do?

@everettescott: I didn't even notice what you did at first, but I stand by what I said initially. If you have PS+, the game is free. Even if this isn't normally the type of game you play, it's different enough in many respects that there's a chance you could like it, and even if you don't like it, then just delete it off your account. No harm, no foul.
