@gizmo88: Last time, I went on r/buildapcforme and talked to some of those guys and they were helping with example builds and answering my questions and stuff. That's probably where I was gonna go again. As far as actually building the machine, I don't personally know anyone that's familiar with it. I was hoping to find some good how-to videos online.

Okay, thanks for the advice :) I'm really excited about building and owning a good PC. I'll jump on it when the new cards drop at the end of the month

Hey, so I'm looking to build my first PC. It's completely new to me (played on console my entire life) and I'm not very knowledgeable about the tech landscape. I know the new video cards were just announced, and I'm gonna grab one of those. A while back, people I talked to on Reddit suggested waiting until this summer when the new stuff was announced. Are the video cards the "new stuff," or is there more coming? Should I keep waiting or is the new video card release the right time to hop on?

I'm looking to build a pretty decent PC.

That's fine with me since the summer months usually suck for video games.

This one was a toss-up for me on whether to pass on it or wait until I had nothing else I wanted to play more. I'm not a big fan of games where heavy co-op is the main focus because I don't want to rely on three random guys who might not have a mic or just don't give a shit as online people tend to do. And, with friends and myself working and schedules barely ever lining up, it's just not worth it, imo.

I played my dad's Genesis when I was little. The first games I remember playing were Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2. I played The Jungle Book on the Genesis a lot, too. The first system I ever got for Christmas was the playstation and I got the first Spyro.
