Yeah, if it wasn't for the LE Delay, I'd have signed up. I was tempted to just order a regular edition one for the tournament, but that seems silly to have 2 copies of the game. I will certainly be interested in being a part of another tourney down the road.
Good for her. She's not quitting and not retreating in the face of evil. Nothing but respect for her.
As for the shaming about GB: Eh. She's entitled to her view and if she thinks that GB isn't doing enough, then she's welcome to say so. It's not like GB is going to suddenly crumble due to the criticism. They will always do what they think is in the best interest of the site and community. Some people will be happy and some people will be really upset, but that's life.
While some people that are part GamerGate might be doing it with good intentions, unfortunately it has led them to be part of a group that shouts terribly misogynistic stuff at women who are part of the industry and say "It's their fault, they are to blame for games not being what I want them to be." Reality is that times change and games change too. There is probably some impropriety going on in the "Industry" as there is in any industry, but it certainly isn't going to be GamerGate that is going to weed it out and shed light on it. All it is going to do, now, is be used to as a Fear Engine to scare off people who they think should be to blame for their games not being what they want them to be.
As much as I would love to participate, I think that between starting a new job and it being second shift, it would be far more stressful to try and participate this time around.
