When things are good, when things are bad, when I don't know, I listen to music.  And I seem to be feeling all of that lately.  Listening to music lately, I've come across a few unsigned artists that are better than fancy guys with record deals.  Artists need to learn to stay within their genre(s) when doing a cover of a song.  And are voice enhancers really needed?

It seems these days, everything is about money.  You grow up, you go to school, to get a job, to earn money.  Sadly, it seems that in the music industry, too much money is too much of a good thing.  I think that when someone is signed to a record labe/company, the money goes to their head, and the artists think "I can put less effort in this album, after all, I have my 10 million dollars banked for life already!"   But on the otherhand, you have amazing artists who make little to no money, and play instruments/sing for the hellavit.  Yes, I'm talking to all of you Disney products, its called fun.

When doing covers, artists need to learn to stay within the genres they are good at, don't sing country songs that you write, and than try to do a cover of a metal song, otherwise it just sounds like SHIT.

Finally, when people change their voice using computers and things, and then you hear an acoustic version of the song...It sounds SOO much better.  Am I the only one who thinks a natural voice sounds better than all that edited and tweaked mumbo jumbo stuff.

So what do you think?  Has music gone down the trash? Or just the brains of musicians with money?

Hello Giantbomb, as I kicked my brother off of our trusty laptop, I just knew I had to blog.  Somewhere.  Somehow.  So please, hear me out...

Everyone likes jokes right?  Laughing makes you healthy!  And watching funny movies is awesome.  But is it possible for a joke to go too far?  So far that everyone thinks you are serious?
So I just got a slap in the face today, figuritively.  Here's the story.  My friend, she is a year older than I, and graduated from my school last year, and she was going overseas somewhere for art school.  I was so happy for her, after all, it was her calling!  She loved to draw, and was even better than my art teacher!  So, she gives me her msn address before she leaves.  I'm like, awesome, we can still keep in touch.  But, she has a twin...and they share the email.  Not a big deal though...So one day I sign into msn and who I think is my friend is online, so I start talking, but it is her sister, and I get the news.  The plane crashed, and there were no survivors...
I believed it.
I thought it was true.
So did everyone else...
Until today.  I was going to the movies to see "Fired Up"  (Maybe I'll do a review later. >_>;;) and I see my friend.  And we talk.  But I don't tell her I thought she was dead.  It was like a slap in the face, but it was something unforgettable.  She went to art school and now she is back, but I will never talk to her again most likely... :(  And now I leave you with this, don't believe everything you hear on the internet, or in real life either.  Also, don't be a dick.

Discussion Crap
1.  Was this a joke gone too far?
2.  Should I have told her I thought she was dead?
3.  Was I in the wrong for believing this...?
4.  Is it right to toy with peoples' emotions like this?

Now I just feel like a daft idiot.

This is a really good year for games, especially the Christmas season.  They said last year almost topped 1995, but I think this year DID top that.  For me, I really want Fallout 3, Fable 2 and LBP.  Christmas wish list, here I come. ;)
