EDIT : Vinny's being a real sour-puss on Bloodborne. I thought the design changes from Dark Souls were mostly for the better (except for the way blood vials work and the fact that there's only so many viable builds).
There actually is quite a bit of strategy to this. Sure, repairing the modules is important, but it gets interesting once you start deciding where to send which crew members to produce what.
You need almost all resources (ship health, food, dice, research, assist and unit health) and deciding where to spend your precious time is actually pretty strategic.
I only started winning this game consistently when I stopped JUST trying to fix problems on the ship.
